    Good old century arms.
    Oh, cast trunnion falling apart? We got you! Here's a VSKA with a cast trunnion.

    Damn I’m stressing so bad about my AK now. Mainly because I’m in a state that has now banned them and I can’t just buy a new one or I’d take the loss….

    You can buy a brand new Forged bolt & carrier for about $230. I have a RAS-47 and a VSKA with no issues at all.

    • @OPERATORonaBUDGET
      @OPERATORonaBUDGET  Před 9 měsíci +1

      The issue you’ll run into is not having the correct headspace if you do that, ak’s aren’t like ar’s and you can’t slap in any bolt without headspacing. I mean technically you can but at that point you’ll have a failure and it could be very bad. Vska’s are ok rifles I haven’t heard the issues compared to the ras47’s issues, when they use non forged parts the Ak’s can’t handle the pressure and it beats itself out of headspace! Keep on shooting them and come back to me, they’ll always fail! Don’t get me wrong the vska is a hell of a lot better than the ras but forged parts will always be king when it comes to the ak platform. Do what you want bro but you could easily sell the both of those rifles and get into a psa or a Riley or even a import and never have to run into these issues, hell even century imports wasr’s and you can get one of those and those things are a tank of a rifle! 😊

  • @detroitandclevelandfan5503

    It's why people should just get a PSA AK, if you want an American made AK. I wouldn't touch Century's AKs with a 10 foot pole. PSA has the approval of Rob Ski. I got mine, it's a blem, which don't be hesitant to buy a blem. Some people can't even find their blems when they buy one.
    I did find mine, it was just a few little scratch. Which, if you're actually going to use it, it will get these scratches.

    • @OPERATORonaBUDGET
      @OPERATORonaBUDGET  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Look man it’s your money and you can buy whatever you want, either way I’ll be accepting of the fact that you even bought an ak. But however if you buy one of these cast aks you’re setting yourself up for failure, it’s made of cast and cast can’t handle the pressures of 762x39 it’s been proven. It could blow up on you in the first round fired or it could blow up on you a 1000 rounds later, do yourself a huge favor and go with something forged over cast. I’d highly recommend the psa ak-p, they’re very cheap coming in around 600 and also very accurate. You could go with a ak104 that’s a tad bit longer but more expensive, trust me buying something more reputable will make you feel so much more better about your purchase. You have that piece of mind that it’ll not blow up in your hands or in a loved one’s hands that’s using it. Hop on palmetto state armory’s website and pick one of those pistols and have it sent to the closest ffl to you. 😊
      If you already have one of these or know someone who does I’d sell it as quick as possible or take the loss and buy a new one. I know century arms will replace your ak with the newer vska model if it were to blow up. But that won’t matter if you die from it blowing up, The only way I’d ever use a cast ak is if I were trying to make it blow up for video/content sake. 😊 either way let me know what you decide man, happy hunting.!.! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

    A VSKA is still not a good gun for him to end up with, it is still made from cast metal. He should sell it and get a WASR or ZPAP.

    • @OPERATORonaBUDGET
      @OPERATORonaBUDGET  Před 2 lety +3

      Before I say this I’m not defending the vska at all .it did have problems at first but , the carrier , rear trunnion , sight leaf and rear sight blocks are made of cast . But the bolt and front trunnion are made of that “s7 ToOl StEeL” so those are definitely an upgrade to the ras for sure or the hell pup or I.o … but I agree 100 percent with you - they have shitty finish , shitty rivets ( sometimes even the wasrs as well ) , canted sights , nitrided barrel ( issues of not cleaned ) so many more that I can’t think of … a lot of other American made aks are doing just fine why can’t these guys 🤔 oh wait maybe because they cut corners 🤷

      @donkeypunch5138 Před rokem

      I would heavily suggest saving up the extra scratch for the ZPAP over the WASR for sure though.
      Ill give WASR love in saying they are forged, they do work, they are reliable BUT they are built by drunk Romanian children in a Combloc factory and you can tell with them lol. They are ruff. They have small-big problems like canted sights, threads that aren't concentric to bore (usually), they 100% are not built for accuracy etc. The run kind of ruff, the action is definatley not the smoothest action ever and the triggers are actually all not that bad. I mean Ill stand behind WASR all day VS something like a VSKA or a RAS47. But as soon as you put it in comparison to a ZPAP its like, not even a comparison honestly.
      The ZPAPs a much better built weapon. Fit and finish is going to be generally much better. Things like the action are going to be smoother, you get a really really nice trigger that beats the RAK trigger IMO. And the New Zastava rifles and pistols are comically overbuilt too. Not only is the trunnion forged but its BULGED like the RPK machine gun trunnions. And it utilizes a 1.5mm thicc receiver over the standard 1.0mm. CHF Barrels too and a little more real estate up front with the Yugo design of AKs.
      im not saying Zastava doesn't have its QC problems but they much less than that of CAI and their rifles including the WASR-10. These days your going to spnd 1000 bucks on a WASR anyways, might as well spend 1100 on a ZPAP instead you get a much better made rifle that you can really be just as proud of.

      I can’t speak much for the m1 garand because I don’t own one , but I do own aks and I know 1 thing for sure and that is the aks inner parts need to be forged. If they aren’t this is what happens and it eventually happens to every ak with cast trunnion and bolts , I am going to get educated on the m1 garand now 🤣 thanks a lot now I have to look it up . Also you’re very right on the heat treatment issues , I’ve had forged aks get cracks in the trunnion from improper heat treatment .

      There is no fix. Your best bet is sell it to some poor soul. You could try and get a forged trunnion swapped but that whole process costs more than your tRASh-47.
      I’m not trying to be rude, I had a RAS and blew it up in my first 20 rounds. I made sure it was zeroed and worked. Next range day the front trunnion fell apart.

    Unfortunately the impulse buyers and people who cant save a decent amount for a good AK buy these up and keep these guys on the market. I mean you probably see more cast guns in gun stores these days than good forged guns. Every gun store has a VSKA on the wall or a RAS47 or a Pioneer Arms.... People buy em up lol. They don't even understand what a cast trunnion is lol.
    Nd ide say a good 90% of em aren't even putting in a real round count with it either. People who just bought it cause they wanted an AK to show it off and stuff at home. Especially with ammo like it is today. These guns see 200 rounds and then sit for 5 years in a gun safe lol. That's who these guns were manufactured for. They weren't meant for military quality work. They were meant for people who shoot on a blue moon.
