I purchased this rack a few years ago for my 2015 Honda CB500X - and this video (which I just stumbled across again), saved me heaps of head scratching and made fitting the rack pretty straightforward.
It is a brilliant rack as, unlike most others, you don’t have to permanently remove the grab handles to allow two ugly railway lines to be fitted - which seriously compromise the beautiful lines of this motorcycle.
I was also then able to fit, to the TOP of the rack, the base of a top box I already owned. I was then able to fit my top box on top - or, when I didn’t need my big ugly top box on the back, I replaced it with my smaller Nelson Rigg tail bag. I could swap between the two depending on how much I needed to carry. That SRC rack remained on the back of that motorcycle for 20,000 km.
Then, several months ago, I upgraded to a 2021 model Honda CB 500x - and I was able to remove all the above and fit them to my new motorcycle, and the rack has now served me for another 6,000 km.
In short, this SRC rear rack is one of the best accessories I’ve purchased - and HEAPS less expensive than all the other big ugly rear racks on the market. If you have a Honda CB 500x, of ANY year, and are searching for the perfect rear rack, buy this. (I’m in Australia and delivery was prompt).
