    Yea! Can't wait to hear both running together it perfect two part harmony. I literally grew up behind an F-Head. With today's technology it could be one of the best most efficient designs in history with the big centered intake valve. Nothing ever idled or pulled smoother. Wishing I was there, this was the first engine I ever worked on except tractors.

      Good to hear from you Karl. The L and F heads are my favorites !! This F head powering the snowblower is exactly what I wanted to do from the beginning of this build. Wasn't until a few days ago that I was able to confirm that the Bros company, who made the unit, offered the F head as standard equipment. Still have a long way to go and need to fit a clutch/pto to the engine but I am headed in the right direction now.

    Really enjoy all your videos. Please keep as much detail in them as you can handle.
    I have learned so much from every video. So glad you are willing to invest the time in making them.

    I love the idea of using a Willys engine to power the snowblower. Now that the project is shifting gears a little, maybe the driveshaft can be reworked to run someplace else...other than past the driver's door 😁.

    • @metalshaperJeep
      @metalshaperJeep  Před 5 lety

      I have seen other snowblower units with the drive shaft just under the door opening. That would allow the door to work and make getting in much easier. I am pursuing that as soon as I get the motor mocked up in the rear of the jeep.

      @@metalshaperJeep Thank you very much, the experience details is what i enjoy the most. Wisdom that is not in the manual. No better way to learn then to do it yourself, but your guidance and wisdom is always appreciated and needed.

    Super excited about watching these rebuilds! I’d love to see a flathead out of a 2a also. I’ve only ever been inside the I6 4.2’s and the 304, 360, and 401. I’ve got some learning to do about these

    Why one engine have the spin on type oil filter and the other one the insert type... does that makes any difference in oil pressure

    Hi Metalshaper, I have been enjoying your videos and thanks for sharing. Quick question: I took my 1945 CJ2a out of the barn where it has been sitting since 1983 and put some oil in each spark plug hole. When I turn the engine over with a socket handle on the hand crank boss I seem to run into a hard stop in both directions. Any thoughts? It almost feels like I get through all 4 cycles before the stop. Thanks , Andy

    • @metalshaperJeep
      @metalshaperJeep  Před 5 lety

      hard to say. is it a very hard stop or does it feel like you might be running into some rust in the cylinder? Keep working at it and see if it frees up. maybe pull the head and have a look in there. Don't over do it and break something, take your time and work it out carefully.

    • @RipwoodSticks
      @RipwoodSticks Před 5 lety

      @@metalshaperJeep Thanks for the timely response. It feels like a hard stop and if the valve cover was easy to get into I would look in there for a stuck rod. I like your idea of taking off the head; might be an easier option. Appreciate your time and videos - super helpful. Talk soon, Andy
