@@yvonneplant9434 Many of them actually came with papers, but I'll grant you thousands came illegally. It was much easier then to slip in or even get by with forged papers. No internet, no global databases to check passports, etc. Doesn't mean it should be allowed to happen today, simply because it couldn't be stopped 100+ years ago.

Regardless, illegal and legal - they commit much less crime that American citizens. 99% of serial killers are American white men. And reminder, the country's economy will die without immigrants who do the necessary grunt work that Americans will not do: Picking agriculture (our food), slaughterhouses (food), brutal outdoor work, low pay work. Immigrants, legal and illegal, build the great cities of the U.S. Chinese immigrants built the railroads. No unions. Dealt with constant violence and racism. Many died. what a great watch. The woman from NY who's son was killed gave one of the most moving authentic speeches I've ever heard. She barely got mentioned because they can't spin it any way. Anderson rushing to commercial because the panel went crazy was the icing on the cake.
My husband and I both looked at each other and said almost simultaneously, she won’t be on the news.
He was late for his commercial break and he had to go. Commercials are slotted into every hour of broadcasting. I have been a licensed professional broadcaster for 42 years.
