Your motions just shut down because you know that if you allow them to be expressed they would just come out like a river with no control. It would be these waves of sadness that can be unbearable. That's why these people have their emotions shut down. Obviously that's not the only response to grief but that's often one of the reasons why people have their emotions shut down, it's because they are trying to prevent themselves from feeling a sadness that can be unbearable.
Imagine having to go through trial all because people thought you weren't sad enough. Also, never talk to the police without a lawyer. The lawyer could have shown that the blood wasn't blood.
I dont know any details, but it seems crazy to me that they actually convicted them as being guilty, with what seems as NO PROOF. Literally just suspicion and very bad circumstantial evidence.
