Big fan of Lumia Phones. Came from Nokia 5800 XPress Music, then Lumia 520, Lumia 640 an finally Lumia 950XL. End of support for WhatsApp (and Windows 10 Mobile) made me to jump to Android - Huawei Mate 20 Pro. It's a good phone, even after two years

I think that if windows took windows phone more seriously and developers were more willing to create apps, today, in 2020 Lumia would be one of the best-selling smarthones

People would still prefer to use Android or iPhones - as both are easier to use and more intuitive. After many years Microsoft realised they weren't going to beat either Android, or Apple.
@@robtyman4281 first time I got a Lumia it was super intuitive to do things. Nowadays whenever I need to use an android phone that is not my own it's super confusing because every manufacturer puts in it their own UI with many changes different from one another and it's not a smooth experience when I have to relearn how to navigate or close apps on every different phone I get my hands on.

What a trip down memory lane, especially for someone like me: a proud 520 owner.
Lumia smartphones were so utterly distinctive, it's honestly surprising why Microsoft didn't see the enormous potential they had. I'd love to pick up a 900/930, a 1020 or a 950XL at some point.
Years ago my friend use 1020 and he said windows phone is totally organized and bruhhh that camera is so fcking awesome

The 625 was the best phone I've ever used, being my daily driver for around 3 years (early 2014 - late 2016). It was fast, pictures looked great, it had 4G, Windows Phone was the snappiest and most stylish operating system ever made. It lacked some apps, but it wasn't a big deal for me. I almost bought the 650, but Microsoft was looking, at the time, to kill off Windows 10 Mobile. I went through a couple of Android devices since then, a Moto G4 and a Nokia 6, but they still felt quite... sluggish. Only my current Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite feels somewhat similar to the Lumia, in both speed and OS looks.

It worked so well Microsoft had to quit it. It was a matter of defending their reputation I suppose...
It worked bad not good because no one have buyed that because there was the iPod that was more popular than zune
Was one of the few to purchase the 610 when Lumia didn't have a strong customer base. Felt cheated when they didn't roll the Windows 8 updates to the 1st gen phones and made them obsolete within the 1st year of purchase. Only a Microsoft can manage to upset its consumer base so bad and end up failing and divesting eventually
I felt the same thing when i was told my 1 year 635 wouldn't get Windows 10...
I used the 710, it was my first tactil phone. It was from my sister before, I remember the back case was pink, so i used to hide it XD
if only i could time travel to early 2000s, I would tell people that Nokia and Windows will create a product together and show them 950XL and blow everyone’s mind

I used Lumia 800, 920, 925,1520, 950XL which were great piece of hardware combination but lack of apps.. Still using lumia 950xlfor smartphone photography
Retro vibrations, nice video! Watching on Lumia 950 in 2023. Love 😍 the AMOLED display with ClearBlack. Camera takes great photos too! Finally got Android with Microsoft Launcher for those daily Bing wallpapers and my fav. MS apps.

My lumia 625 finally break last month, still able to power up but the back button no longer work. Idk if it's hardware or software problem considering no repair shop able to fix it. Any suggestion?
i dont understand but, charge your phone and the phone will automatically turn on. if your power on button isnt working

If only Microsoft and Nokia took the Windows phone more seriously, released less, more thought out models and marketed them right, it would've been a massive success.

This period was not a great one for Nokia...so much so that they pulled out of the mobiles market, as their strategy to go with Windows and not Android cost them dear. Their Windows phones weren't selling, and the Windows version for phones was slow and clunky.
The Nokia name was resurrected by HMD towards the late 2010's, and now finally Nokia phones used Android - which is what they should have done from the start ....when the smartphone emerged in early 2008.

I switched from Lumia to iPhone and always felt windows phone was an excellent OS in terms of performance and simplicity to use.

Its funny how these days many reviewers see a 120 Hz display as a must have feature of any great phone. Fun fact: The Lumia 920 had such display and nobody really cared.
It pains me that I didnt buy the Lumia 920 back in the days. It was a real milestone. The camera was fantastic in low light and the display was pretty nice for its time as well. The design of the phone itself (crazy popping yellow and red colours) and its periphery was a daring, ahead of its time and a fresh breeze to the market. On top of it all it was a well rounded highend phone that was not too expensive. It still baffles me today how Microsoft could have been so careless about windows phone back in the days. Selling software through the appstore was and still is a lucrative business model. Today we can only decide between tax crook Apple and data kraken google. :(
Fun Fact #2: I think, there is a good chance, we will see a comeback of the windows phone style dynamic tiles on Android or iOS. Even though i never owned a windows phone, i still love the concept of the information preview inside the dynamic tiles. It provides a beautiful balance between UI clarity and update informations.
I have the white 920 since 2013. Sadly the battery is game over and Im lazy to go and get it fixed as I use 1020 which is not that great. I had a look at the online offers and will have the yellow 920 posted on Monday. I may will try to get 930 and 1520 too and for sure will bring the white 920 back to life. Who cares it is 2022.

En lo personal nunca me agradó Windows Mobile/Phone, así que a mí me agrada que este intento de MS por competir contra iOS y Android haya fracasado y que ahora Nokia tenga este último. Pero es entretenido recordar (a los difuntos). ☺️

Лучшая операционная система , которую я знаю. Я про стиль, оформление, плавность работы . Были в свое время 800, 625 и потом очень хотел 950, но уже было понятно , что тупорылое руководство микромягких хоронит систему. Перешел тогда на андроид.
