Great tip on The Cramps. Didn't know about that band; will look into that!

Awesome to see this pop up suddenly! I remember Tom Port saying Kevin Gray wasn't anything special. I have my doubts about that.

Seems like a really great person and he’s fully booked so that shows he has talent.

Tom Port sniffs his own socks. Wouldn’t listen to much of what he says.

Thank you guys I blind bought Chick Corea after listening to you talk about the drums, unfortunately it’s $75 here in Australia, and that’s if you can find it, I got lucky, cheers from Down Under

Anyone know any possible identifiers in the runout for the Citizen Vinyl pressing plant?

Steve , you are becoming must see channel, excellent roundtables and discussions and the manner in which you allow your “wingmen” and/or guests to carry the majority of the conversation is much appreciated. Mazzy is becoming the Michael McDonald (Doobies) of the VC , he’s everywhere and we are better for it , hope he doesn’t become obiquitous , I truly enjoy his views . Hope Chad sees this comment, Doobie Brothers on Analogue Productions ?
    Great work Sir !

Much appreciated. I really appreciate your kind words and support. It’s all about the music and definitely not about me. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Steve and another great video. I was very curious about what Kevin planned to say about the Classic series that he referenced at the 10:30 mark, but seemed to run out of time. Can you circle back with him on this in your next vid?

He mentioned a couple of Classic reissues (Bobbi Humphrey and Donald Byrd) and a potential reissue of a Ronnie Laws album in the Classic series.

@@michaelcannon3978 Thanks Michael and saw that, but I have those reissues already and was hoping there was more new information than just the Laws release.

Great round table as usual Steve. Any chance you could double check with Kevin about those Meters / Jackpot releases: Are they the first Meters albums on Josie label? More likely they are the Reprise albums, but Josie was eventually sold to Rhino, so Warner may have those tapes too. I'm holding out hope. AAA versions of the Self-titled, "Struttin" or "Look-Ka Py Py" would be ANOUNCEMENT OF THE YEAR imho, if it was happening. Cheers buddy. :)

Mazzy I like you. But describing The Cramps as cow punk or country punk!? What?! Great that you gave the Drastic Plastic releases some attention though. They are great. 😊

@@mazzysmusic rockabilly is fine. I guess most people would call it psychobilly. The problem with that is that they then get lumped with a bunch of crap bands. Nothing else sounds like The Cramps.

UM release. Can't Buy A Thrill. Meticulously remastered by Bernie Grundman, these reissues were cut by Alex Abrash at AA Mastering studio and pressed at Precision. PRECISION. Canadian Pressing Plant.

17:55 The Horzu MMT (1973 pressing) is the best pressing of that album. The Horzu P.P.Me is the best pressing of that album.
What's wrong with saying that Mazzy? LOL. Some people want the best pressing of their beloved Beatles albums.

I love my Horzu MMT. Only real true stereo track of Penny Lane. It sounds incredible.

  • @revelry1969

I will say. The Sean Magee mono master he just did is pretty weak. It is muddy and sounds no good to me. This is probably because I am not a fan of mono in general. The new remix sounds great though. The mono mixes are interesting but I wouldn’t have em on vinyl necessarily. The stereo ones sound way better IMHO, blue box BC13 (Dutch) is quite amazing IMHO.
