Are the no-smoking announcements manual or automatic (or both)? Remember being at a Chiltern station where someone had lit a cigarette whilst standing on a platform, and the announcement went off not long after - was wondering if it was a coincidence or not!
Don't know why they don't use that for terminating trains to/from Stratford-upon-Avon, but they seem to put them on platform 4 along with the terminating trains to/from Kenilworth/Coventry/Nuneaton.

They seem to be timed every half an hour but it may well be possible to manually trigger them as well

Is there any particular announcement pattern LMS? Also it's one announcement per train right?
1-3 announcements per train but no real pattern. Southbound trains tended to be announced only once
