BBC Digital Widescreen Test Transmission

Lovely test card, on loop on Astra 2 at 28.2E - this is a holding place for the upcoming Big Weekend event.
The video features various natural landscape scenes and music by Aphex Twin; I'm told that the original purpose of the video (which has been around for over a decade) was to test digital compression in varying environmental conditions (fast moving scenes, water etc.)
Makes a lovely soundtrack to fall asleep to.

I remember the original Test Transmissions for this back in 1997 when the BBC were doing tests on DTT was watching on the then “On Digital” the film and music are both delightful :-)
