The little pin in the blue connector is for spark supression if fitted. It works similar to the spark suppressed XT-90 connectors. It should have a resistor from that pin to the main connector cable and a slightly longer pin on the other side of the connector to make connection first and allow capacitors to charge in connected equipment without an arc before the connector is fully seated when being plugged in.

I forgot to say, ref waste oil heaters etc, didnt use mine this year, got 8 old laptop batteries and 20 quid heated vest. Fantastic. Solar charges 4 18650s while the others heat coat. Defo recommend.

All the Vtoman power stations have jump start and extra battery features..It would be interesting if you do a teardown of the little Jump 600x and as you already have the jump cable, you could test the jump start on the little power station as well.

Certainly could do with longer cables for the jump-starting feature, but a quick hack would to just use a set of standard jumpleads and clamp them onto the device's battery clamps, or just use one of the smaller packs instead... :P

Not sure about the Flashspeed series but on the Jump series the last percent takes the longest. The display flashes when the power station is charging.

Great presentation David, what's your opinion on automatic power transfer on these devices? Yes/no? again thanks for sharing your knowledge.

i assume it will work, but how about diesel engines? i only ask because i have one of those little jump starters and it works on any petrol thrown at it, but only some diesels. 1.6l van no problem, another 1.6l van and my 2l car no chance won't even turn the engines over a full turn before dying .

Nice vid thanks for sharing. That oscilloscope looks useful. Can you give us a demo on it please. If it's old is there an updated version?

Will the jump starter cables operate a diesel heater?

In theory yes. But as it's only using half of the battery pack my concern would be how unbalanced the cells would be after some time.

Is there an extra charge for the cable from new?

Jump start may be ok for a gasoline mini engine. But a diesel truck engine will pop the overload. There is a reason why diesel have a battery designed to give you a hernia.
Your home is well equipped to give you a cup of tea. Till the mains juice up. It is always fun. When the power goes down. Your house is all lit up and watching a video.

I wish I had something big and diesel to test it on. There is a diesel forklift but I don't think the engine is very large.
