- Relax as I show you the Jinhao 100 fountain pen that I recently obtained. I can't believe it took me until now to get one of these incredible pens, but I wasn't aware of them. Modeled after the famous Parker Duofold Centennial fountain pen, which cost hundreds of dollars, the Jinhao 100 is a lot of pen for $21 and it really seems too good to be true. Of course I will have to use it for a while for time will tell just how great a pen it really is, but, for the money, this pen appears to be a hidden gem in the world of fountain pens.

I lived in China for 5 years and fountain pen culture/appreciation is definitely alive and well there! As a teacher I received a lot of fancy pens as gifts, even though I've never been able to enjoy or appreciate them very much lol. I was even given a fancy glass pen on my final day at school before I returned to the US.

I have one in cracked ice….i am afraid that it’s colour may fade away in few months?? is it true?? how good is the colour of your pen after 2 years?

I had to start some of it over. I went to sleep at some point while you were filling it. Anyway…obviously the body is not celluloid. Most likely acrylic plastic like most other “resin” bodied pens in the modern age.

I have this exact Centennial and also love it! In fact, I loved the design so much (I know it's based off a Duofold but...eh) I brought the orange version with a Jinhao 14k nib.

You should melt all your pens down into one pen and make more pen videos with just that one pen. That way it's different every time and as far as the audience is concerned it's never the same pen. 🤣

different nib on the dragon, in the 100 is the normal nib (the same of the 450 and 750 for example). dragon's nib is a very good nib, not so wet and smooth very well

Your videos inspired me to buy a good fountain pen and I'm new to the subject. It is normal that after lifting the nib, sometimes the first few millimeters of the next letter does not get inked. This happens every 1-2 words and is somewhat fruststrating. I am still using the cartriged that was included in the pen, which might not be best ink quality. Ink is flowing without problem only when making continuous lines. Is this issue normal with fountain pens in genral? My pen is Ink V2 from Karas Pen Co.

I live fountain pens, but I use my left hand more to write, though I can write with both hands.
Do you have any idea if you can get fountain pens like what you see in Tom and Jerry were they use to pick them up and move a lever and the ink would get sprayed out the nib?

I remember my father used to have a fountain pen with a lever used to fill it. I can't answer if it shot ink out though as I was never allowed to touch it, lol.

You could practice using the pens by writing out some poetry; a fine use of a fountain pen.
_ At about 47:00 you talk about changing to a stub nib. Where can one purchase the stub nib that you were showing in the video that will fit the Jinhao 100? Thank you.
The stub nib in the video was purchased from Goulet Pens. I did not see any for sale on their website a few minutes ago. Perhaps I overlooked it. You could also try Fountain Pen Revolution's website. I'll be installing one of theirs and trying it out in a video coming up in the future. I'm sure there are other sites you can order from also. Just search for #6 stub nibs.

Of all my Jinhao pens the 100 is my absolute favorite. Much nicer than the price suggests.
