    Got my Golf 1.6 FSI when it had done 45k. It's now on 62k.
    Runs best on Supereme unleaded from Esso or V-Power from Shell and to avoid engine rattle when pulling away hard, especially on hills.
    For engine oil, I use Motul Specific 504 to 507 100% Fully Synthetic and change it annually with a new oil filter.
    Prefer to keep the 195 65 15 size tyres for potholes, etc, and maintain tyre pressures at 32 psi instead of the 29 psi listed to improve fuel economy.
    I found at 60k, car started to make ticking noise on cold starts but it only lasts for a minute or so and driver side electric window is starting to play up but other than this, the car has never let me down.
    It's not the most powerful car I've owned but definitely the most reliable.

    My first car was a Oceanic Blue 2004 MK5. I only had it for about 5 months but man did I go places, and it was hassle-free, fun and comfortable. I've since had a Volvo 740 (now scrapped), a Volvo V70 R-Design which is a my current daily and a Volvo 940 which I sold yesterday. And even though I couldn't be happier with my V70, I still think about the Golf sometimes. The new owner lives in the same city so I see it out on the roads frequently and every time it puts a smile on my face.

    I've got 2007 golf 1.6 mpi automatic as a second car and on 15 inch alloys and soft seats is super smooth and comfortable. My previous 2017 308 and current 2022 Tucson with their plastic seats and stiff suspension feel like riding a wheelbarrow. Despite golf being the slowest car I've ever had and having broken cruise control I enjoy driving it the most.

    I've got a 1.6fsi in my vw eos, it gets 28mpg around town and 33 on the motorway, and I'm a careful driver and always tey to keep the revs low. I couldn't believe when you showed you got over 50mpg.

    • @Kamarlpringle
      @Kamarlpringle  Před 9 dny

      Wow that’s a big difference. On a normal drive I get at least 33 in extreme urban driving in London

    hola buenas. sabrias decirme cual es la medida de los tubos de silicona que usaste en la admision. es para saber el diametro de la mariposa de admision. un saludo !

    • @Kamarlpringle
      @Kamarlpringle  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The diameter to the throttle body pipes are 70mm . For the RamAir intake you need a 70-80mm reducer pipe

    Wait a minute, 50mpg? That's like 4.2l/100km, right?
    How is that possible? My 1.6fsi likes to have at least 7l/100km (33mpg) when driving around 110-120km/h (68-75mph) on the highway.
    The lowest fuel consumption I've ever had on the highway was 5.5l/100km (42mpg), I was only going downhill, and I barely touched the gas pedal.
    Mine is a 2004 model, and I only give it Natural 98 for fuel. I'm not sure if you name your fuel differently, tho'
    However, you have a really nice looking golf, and the editing was really good👍

    • @Kamarlpringle
      @Kamarlpringle  Před 4 měsíci +1

      With my RamAir intake , NGK Iridium TT spark plugs and Castrol edge 5w30 oil I was able to increase the MPG . The fuel I use is Shell V-power which is 5% ethanol and 99 octane. I can get more than 42 easily which also driving abit more sporty :)

      @Kamarlpringle  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Also thanks for the compliments , much appreciated

    • @bendr251
      @bendr251 Před 4 měsíci

      @Kamarlpringle Ohhh, okay, I didn't know that custom parts could make such a huge difference in mpg. Thank you for the clarification 👍
      I've never really noticed much of a difference in the range between running my car on Natural 95 or 98 or even 100.
      But the difference in performance is pretty noticeable between 95 and 98.
      So I only fill her up with 98 😉

      I have 1.6fsi golf with automatic gearbox. My fuel consumption is almost same as yours @bendr251.
      4.2l/100km is insane even for diesel engines.
