    Great talk guys. I blown away at how fast this market changes since the your recording. More side lever cocking rifles at lower prices. ATI and Air Venturi rifles air rifles at about $300. Depending on our economy, side lever may move down to $250 price. Beeman has been doing dual caliber for a few years, and new higher quality dual caliber (Hatsan Hydra) for about $600. The future looks great!

    When talking that caliber swappability, one thing came to mind.
    Sig could have done a PCP rifle that coulda been a kind of a hybrid of the old co2 MCX rifle and the new Virtus PCP. Swapping .177 or .22 mags and belt is easy. And the inner barrel comes out from the old co2 MCX way easy..
    Only would have needed to do an old styled MCX rifle with an airtank+adjustable regulator and then give the .177 inner barrel the same external size as the .22 inner barrel. The mock-suppressor of course would also be qccording to the .22 inner barrel. There Sig would have their backyard PCP plinker with possibility for caliber change.
    This thing just came to mind since I would have easily "settled" for a Virtus in .177cal myself. No need to play around with any .22 pellets in a backyard plinker.

    I love caliber changing my dreamline got .22 600mm barrel. 25 600mm and a .30 700mm on the way if Tyler ever gets it in stock😂😂 by the way thank you pyramyd air you are the only ones that sell the fx impact stx barrle upgrade in any size I bought 2 for my dreamline. As a testament to what a guy will do I'm converting my bullpup to a tac. I had to find all the part numbers my self 😂. What's next for the mid range guns. Will hatsan stop putting shotgun barrels on pcps? Better barrels on the midrange would be nice. Less gimmicky crap and a solid barrel and action everything else can be cheap as long as it performs

    Ya want low price point? Try this on for size: I went to Cabela's (back when they had the man cave feature stuck in the back) just to see what they had goin' on in good deals with regard to air rifles. Found two outstanding deals I couldn't let get away. #1 was a .22 cal. Benjamin Silver Eagle (NitroPiston), retailed at well over $200. They had it down to well under $100. #2 was the Gamo Urban .22 PCP, normally priced at $400. It was missing the filling probe and was marked down to (literally, no joke) pocket change over $100. So, for less than $200., I was able to get both a quality break barrel AND a quality, suppressed PCP truck gun with very good accuracy in a full charge. Yep, sometimes you can trip over a diamond or gold mine. Now if I can find the world of refurbished ____________ (you fill it in), I'll be sittin' in tall cotton.

    5:50 When are we going to get a $300 side lever gun? We already have them: ATI Nova Liberty.
    Interchangeable Barrels/Calibers are a a novel idea but mainly used by manufactures to "SELL" guns. My RTI Priest II has the option to change calibers, but I will buy another gun if I want another caliber. The amount of time changing barrels, re-sitting the scope and tuning the gun to a new caliber is not worth it. I would rather simply grab another gun that is already set up.

      Randy Cupp Thank you! Can’t stand the air Venturi rebranding horribleness and the lies they create.
      The Liberty by the way is the best gun (I think) that can be sold for $300. There is no way it could be improved without cutting corners.

    • @randycupp5925
      @randycupp5925 Před 4 lety +1

      @@AK-hg6vr Yeah, I never did understand all the silly rebranding. But From all of the reviews I have seen on the ATI Nova, it is a spectacular gun for the money. I know a lot of guys on the forums were complaining about no parts availability when they first came out. I am not sure if that has changed or not.

    • @tylerpatner6591
      @tylerpatner6591 Před 4 lety

      @@randycupp5925 Sure, the Nova Liberty was/is out there, but with zero or little parts support from the importer. I saw two guns come out of SHOT show this year that are clearly made by the same factory as the Liberty, but with some different features than what the Liberty had that will be great. You have the Air Venturi Avenger, which boasts an externally adjustable regulator and the Umarex Origin which has some interesting stuff going for it as well....both are side levers.

    • @AK-hg6vr
      @AK-hg6vr Před 4 lety

      Tyler Patner We shall see about the part support - they said that they will repair my gun which means they must have parts. Also the externally adjustable regulator is useless since you have to still degas the gun and it’s not super accurate. The hammer spring adjuster is nice though - but I would take the larger and titanium cylinder of the Liberty over a hammer spring adjuster.

    • @tylerpatner6591
      @tylerpatner6591 Před 4 lety

      @@AK-hg6vr Assuming you mean ATI? That's surprising, but good to hear.
      Regarding the adj. reg, you only need to degas to lower the reg pressure. No need to degas to increase it. And what's not super accurate?

  • @mrhalfstep
    @mrhalfstep Před 4 lety +2

    When I recently checked for the price on a Wildfire I discovered that they are discontinued. Is that because they were being returned at an unacceptable rate? I know I had to return 3 to get 2 that would not empty their tanks suddenly and become unrefillable, thereafter. As well as mentioning the aspect of unacceptable levels of returns with guns that are too cheaply made, in today's video, in one of your earlier TNT videos, I know that Tyler addressed disappointing flaws in new guns that result in having to do multiple returns to get a good one as the "ugly side" of airgunning that you see when you are on the inside of the retail process. Could this be one of the guns that he was referring to?

    • @tylerpatner6591
      @tylerpatner6591 Před 4 lety

      I do remember the return rate was higher than many others on that gun, but what I don't know offhand is the reason for return. In the case of the wildfire (as Travis and I discussed) the reason for return could've been because of the lack of power versus how the gun was initially advertised, versus being a leaker or failing to function properly.

    • @tylerpatner6591
      @tylerpatner6591 Před 4 lety

      @@AK-hg6vr Liberty that I had was great. It's very similar function wise minus the external adjust-ability of the reg and the dual gauges. The fact that you don't need to take the gun apart to make reg changes is a huge plus. The cylinder is smaller, but the gun still gets a great shot count for the cylinder size. And it only weighs 6 lbs. To me, if the production guns are as good as the sample I have, it'll be the best $300 PCP out there.

    The spinning intro/ending...no. I would rather buy 2 separate rifles in the desired calibers than own one that interchanges. I like working on and tuning my guns and I see issues with doing that for one particular caliber and having it negatively affecting the other caliber or at least causing issues, especially with non- barrel porting.
