I've seen them live in march in Paris, I liked their approach on grindcore. So I've bought the album "tOt" three days ago. It's brutal! And includes as a bonus track this live at OEF 2008.
Nope, it wasn't on purpose. The singer stated a bit later in an interview that they were satisfied with their show, but the guitar sound sucked. I've seen them live in march 2009 with Blockheads, Yacopsae and a bunch of others, and the guitar souded very different. It also sounds very different on record.
The guitar may be plugged into two amps and that pedal is a splitter (i think that's wath it's called) , so when he uses it it goes from using one amp at a time to the two of them together. I'm in a grindcore band that is only drum and bass and I do that on bass
