General Austin. Man is a retired 4-star General in the US Army. General Austin was a leader of the 82nd Airborne, 2nd Battalion, 505th Infantry. He was a leader of what we could Green Berets. Lloyd Austin is probably the living equivalent of a bad ass Green Beret.

Greeks in general were certainly not the most influential state of the time period, they're only the most influential to us TODAY. Political perspectives and pressure certainly affects how we have to interpret history, such as separating truth from propaganda against enemy states, but there isn't a singular king who sits down and writes whatever he wants and that's our only source. In modern history, we have countless thousands of primary sources readily-available, and more being uncovered or recorded all the time.

The problem here is one of apples and oranges.
Rep. Gaetz is talking about CRT being taught, while Gen. Milley is talking about reading about, and being informed about, CRT. It's two mutually exclusive thoughts.
Surely, the General wants to be informed ABOUT CRT as an ideology the same as he does about the writings of Mao, Marx, and Lenin, and I don't think his intention was to imply anything but that. Unfortunately, he got sidetracked in his line of thought, on the issue of whether a person can be misunderstood solely because he reads of a specific topic as opposed to embracing that topic, and his rebuttal went into the realm of being politically correct, rather than being understood. That's why Rep. Gaetz shook his head at that point, i.e. because he, Gaetz, knew that the General misspoke at that point. The General went from talking about being informed (which is a correct thing to do), to talking only in a politically correct way (which is the wrong thing to do). The General wants to know about an opposing ideology, and know whether that ideology is affecting National Defense, but moreso, the General would want to know if that ideology is affecting National Defense in a negative way, which is Rep. Gaetz's original concern.

I don't know what critical race theory is, but I think it is a good idea to teach our children about our country's horrible past with slavery. If we don't, we are going do be doomed to repeat history. What would make America great, is that we look at our past with a critical eye, and learn from our horrible mistakes. If people think we don't have a problem with racism, they need to take the blinders off. A few hundred years later after end of slavery, emotions are still raw, even after all the civil rights laws that where passed, we still have problems between whites and blacks (and everyone in between). You can't legislate against what is in people's hearts. The sooner white people (and everyone else) realize slavery was wrong and that the their ancestors were wrong. The sooner we can actually ALL move forward together. We still have problems after, MLK, after all the Rodney King, Abner Louima, Amadou Diallo, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and a whole host of others, and the words by the general above. General Milley is right, we need to understand where all this white rage comes from, but I'm sure some of you have an idea. Either way it has to be talked about in the open. When grandpa did an inspection(standard procedure) and found some lazyass swept dust under a rug, he ordered everyone to take one item and go down with it to the gathering spot in front of the building ground floor. then they put the item on the ground and run back up to take another item down
Note: By item I mean really small stuff like a pen(for a start) to big shit like whole bed(only frame was left to carry) and other furniture(late game), so they had to run 4 floors up and down a lot. Then when everything was nice and sorted on the courtyard my grandfather ordered the bed frame taken up then rest of furniture, then....every individual pen. Basically more running but in reverse order. they finished at 3AM Ever since then my room is tidy :)

Milley made a good point about how critical thinking and keeping an open diverse thought on understanding different views is crucial for the military. It's the reason why the Marine Corps boast diversity within ethnic and religious backgrounds of recruits that come in to do basic. Having diversity and critical understanding from different views allows for better problem solving and reduces the risk of group-think.
