For the past 20-30 years at least the right has largely used xenophobia and fear of immigrants, terrorists and alleged attacks on Christians to mobilize their supporters. The left does as well to a lesser extent, but fear based campaigning is basically the default in our political landscape for most candidates.

Lol watching Americans complain about their healthcare is funny. Meanwhile if you live in the UK you get to sit on a 3 year waiting list and if you're lucky enough not to die you'll get treatment that you're half as likely to survive as someone living in the usa.
Always remember that I a public healthcare system there's not enough money and treatment to go around and the method of selection is to see who lives and who dies before treatment.
But hey, that's just me, would rather be in debt than dead if it came down to it.

And you had no choice in the matter.
Only the wealthy elite can afford private healthcare and the result is that they get to wait even less time than the usa because the rest of us are forced into a public system that makes us wait years and lets us die. Which frees up the private system for them.
And your waiting lists are nothing like ours. You have zero perspective.
And it is better for you. You have control of your healthcare. Your waiting lists are a fraction of the size of our public waiting lists, you have a greater chance of survival by a longshot, like if you have cancer in the usa, your chances of survival are literally MORE THAN DOUBLE someone in the UK using nhs.

There are 650 seats and 650 constituencies. The constituencies are tiny which makes it worse than than the US system. Scotland and Wales are overrepresented. The SNP won 4 fifths of Scotland's seats in 2019 without even winning a majority of the vote there, UKIP won 12.6% of the vote in 2015 yet they only won 1 out of 650 seats. We still don't use ranked choice voting in a country where most people probably don't identify with one of the two largest parties. The ruling party always ignores the issues because they always benefit from the issues.
