Instead of doing the 'ol 'let's try this again'' twice, I would (as I hand them the deck), say, "I need you to help me shuffle these up a couple times in a special way" and proceed as shown. Dealing their own chosen numbers would give them a better feeling of ownership, and lessen the feeling of a set up. You wouldn't even have to reveal the two 'wrong' cards. Alternatively, you could even incorporate one or both of the 'wrong' cards as an additional means to help 'find' their selected card.

This would be a real nice trick to do on couples and their 'magic connection'

DUDE FINALLY....i been trying to contact you....i learnt lot from you and i came up with a small but quite cool card trick which can be improved by pro like you....neat and clean...totally impromtu doesnt require any extra things except deck of cards....i really hope we can work on this...i call it...the 2 for 1 deal. Atleast have a look on that.... then you can decide if you would like to think and improve that. All the thanks goes to you for making me a magician...:) Inspired by u! no simp but honesty.

I would elicit your opinion on my suggested alternate presentation of card magic below:
At the outset, I would tell the spectator, now that his chosen card is somewhere in the deck....let us together locate where the card is in the deck! You get two chances and I get one. Let us see who is lucky!
You start ....guess any number between 10 to 20.
Spectator chooses say... 16. Count and deal 16 cards and show the 17th card and asks whether it is the selected card. He would say no.
Now ask him to guess any number now between 20 and 30.
Spectator chooses say... 28.
Count and deal 28 cards and show the 29th card and asks whether it is the selected card. He would say no!
Now...you would say...it is my turn. Let my guess be...hmm...12!
[I wouldn't reveal how (28-16=12) 12 is arrived at!].
Now...I would count and deal 12 cards and show the 13th card which is the selected card!!
Will it get good response??
I will test it on my family now. I hope it will get a good response. Most of this trick is maths so when u don’t tell them I subtract it then they don’t know! It will be easy to figure out if u tell them ur subtracting coz then they might reverse it and realise the card is on top

But why does it work that way? The card was in the 15th position before they counted the 2nd time. Suddenly after the 3rd time it was in the 12th position....

The effect is cool if you're performing for kids or something like that, but I feel like the fact that you are wrong twice, and then for the third attempt you use math to determine the number of cards to count it makes it painfully obvious that this is all mathematical.

This is WAY too confusing, indirect, and choppy. This is fine for a novice magician showing mom and dad a trick, but if you tried doing this in a set, don’t expect to be rehired. Also, why do you do the EXACT SAME control every single time? Sorry. Thumbs down 👎🏻 on this old effect. There’s millions of better self workers.
