    I think the Cayenne is the only real upgrade from a RR. The X5M is good if you want to go hella fast. But you lose big time on offroad capability. The Cayenne is a bit better for offroad than the x5 I feel, but still pales in comparison to RR offroad.

    Went on a similar journey. Over the last 12 years we went from X5 to X3 to X5 to Q5 to X5 to a 2019 RR Sport Autobiography. We also got a Cayenne which went for an Etron S. Ultimately, the RR went and the Etron went. We’re back in X5s. I took delivery of a F95 LCI and my wife took delivery of X5 M60i. Dollar for dollar the X5 is a great package. The M60i can be fitted with air suspension and has the S68 engine. We ultimately got rid of the RR, purchased new, because the reliability was not good, the infotainment and rear seat entertainment was laggy and worked inconsistently, and it rode like a truck as you described. The ride is rather unsophisticated. Unless you’re going off road, there are better options. The RR is not more luxurious than the X5 top trim to top trim. The RR leather is a little nicer, overall vehicle is more sturdy by design. But if you’re an enthusiast that enjoys driving, towing is a use case, and occasionally going on a trail get the X5 or the Cayenne. Between the two, it comes down to brand identity and which do you identify with more. The new M60i is nice and much cheaper compared to the equivalent turbo and offers a bit more utility compared to the F95. The F95 is just a sports car in SUV guise. There is no option for an air suspension. If that’s important get the M60i or the Cayenne turbo. Looking at your choice of vehicles and that you’re an enthusiast, I think you’ll be much happier with the Cayenne or one of the V8 X5s. Value for money, the X5 is the better package. Just my two cents from experience.

      Thank you so much for your thorough reply. The M60i could be the best of both worlds like you mentioned since you get the S68 but it won’t be as harsh as the M. Perhaps I should sell the Range Rover will it’s still performing at its best before the problems start. It sounds like it will break at some point. You’re right though, as an enthusiast I should’ve went for an enthusiast model.

    I have been researching performance SUVs for about a year now and in part decided on X5M due to your videos on the 2016. I will be buying 2016-2017 X5M with 50k-70k miles next month and will be paying cash no payment. I have been torn between M3 & X5M, but decided going from driving F250 and other SUVs i dont want to be low and little in a car anymore as ive had 3 3xx BMWs in the past and loved them. I drive a moderately modded F250 now and love the hp & tq, bit just dont need a diesel anymore and have wanted X5M since they came iut in 2010. Now its the time to get a $100k + SUV for $30-$40k.
    Great videos and ill be watching no matter what you get !!

    I've owned them all too. X5M definitely my favorite but I feel the depreciation every time I drive. Perhaps we are trying to get from a car what only a woman can provide. I have settled for a Lexus GX and use my mountain bike for my excitement.

    As a guy with multiple vehicles I understand your appetite well to have multiple cars that serve multiple roles rather than cars that are redundant….i have an X5 Competition 2024 and truth be told the Range Rover you have is really similar with only slight differences….if it were me I would keep the Range Rover and trade out something else for a truck like the TRX…which I also have…then you will have more variation…all the sports SUV’s are extremely similar to me it’s not worth the trade in loss for another vehicle with minor differences and a different badge

    Would keep the Ranger Rover Sport you have personally. Give the RRS more time.

  • @kcw9313
    @kcw9313 Před 7 měsíci +11

    It doesn't take a rocket scientist to state that ALL the cars you currently own are money draining propositions homey, especially if you're also going getting a bank loan to make matters worse. So being a car enthusiast, you're choosing to simply feed the addiction by blowing money on things that give you joy. I'd personally dump the now old gen RRS for a new X5M before they hybridize the drivetrain. Buying a used Cayenne Turbo is lame. Just like the RRS, all these luxury toys are only cool when you buy the latest & greatest. Go big or stay home. CZcams metrics say so. lol

    • @rkkroger
      @rkkroger Před 6 měsíci +2

      Don’t do this. Buying new is about the dumbest thing you can do - even if you think it will hold its value because of hybridization or whatever. The last few years are an anomaly so don’t count on values that way. Buying used after the depreciation curve has taken its violent drop is the only way for enthusiasts to buy and sell frequently. Yes this an expensive hobby but you can manage the financial hit with diligent buying techniques and selling private party. Always buy the best trim which will command higher sale values private party.
      Agree Eddie that it seems you may have too many of these toys :) just get a daily (X5M) and a track car (911).

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  Před 6 měsíci +4

      Of course. I’d had a lot more money in my pocket had it not be for these cars! I’m glad I’m in a position to afford them but then I have this constant itch to try something different and if money wasn’t an option and I had the space, I’d keep them all. I see you’re point also with CZcams want to see the latest and greatest but if I put all my eggs in one basket what happens whenever Easter is over and everybody moving on to the next holiday? I’d be left holding the basket. Haha!

    • @eddiemcars
      @eddiemcars  Před 6 měsíci +1

      That’s exactly my strategy. Only the large successful CZcamsrs can afford to pump and dump these cars like day traders but unfortunately, I’m still relying on my full time job to fund this until my channel takes off. I do exactly what you’re saying by getting the cars right after depreciation so I don’t take a loss if any after 2 years.
      Part of me is thinking 911 GTS and Cayenne Turbo!

    Have you considered replacing the RRS with a Grenadier? It’s still a BMW powertrain but it’s likely a bit better off-road due to the love axles + it’s more comfortable than other off-roaders.
    The RRS is the king of traction control. But why use it if you know coming back is a 50/50 affair? Greasier might fit that particular role better.
    So that can leave you with the X5 & the Porsche as city driving performance wheels to balance it out.
