    Where to buy adapter: www.veclan.com/phone/eac_phone_sel_one?eng_ApplianceVo.eac_id=85
    The difference between 0-10ohms is roughly the same as the difference between 10-20ohms, and 20-40ohms, and 40-80ohms etc.
    So if you like the changes from 0-10 and you want about triple the boost more for example, you don't go with 30 but instead 40 and for a quad boost you'd go with 80

    I used the 10 ohm adapter that came with Zero Red on my SL41, and the vocals and bass sound definitely became more three-dimensional.

    I’ve been shilling for impedance adapters for a long time. Glad to see more hobbyists using and experimenting with them. There’s a great set with 25, 50, and 75ohm adapters that can be found cheap, and give you a lot of room for experimentation. Unless you’re running a Q5k or another dongle with PEQ capability, this is a great way to get more legs out of your IEMs. I used a 75ohm adapter to turn a Khan into a bass canon that competes alongside my much more expensive Scarlett Mini. Definitely worth picking up a set.

      @@MrGarkin You'd think; it's the one feature that justifies the Qudelix 5k for me. I can transfer my custom EQs to my mobile setup. I EQ almost every set in my collection. At this point, I won't listen to many of my headphones or IEMs without custom EQs.

    • @HobbyTalk
      @HobbyTalk  Před 4 měsíci

      Good question. It really comes down to the treble. To me the CKLVX treble is preferable, reason for that is I enjoy more Air than I do Mid Treble. That said, I think that’d come down to the individual. I also find CKLVX bass to be a step up some reason.

    This is cheating! Damn... it sound good with the 75 ohms adaptor!! (for me that I don't really like the Zero:RED and the Castor with 75ohms adaptor).
    Bigger soundstage (+bass) and less spiciness in the treble region using generic foam tips at low gain, I love these right now

    Can you graph it with the 10 ohm? If you did, what did you find? I like the CHKLVX stock - just tried a 10 ohm impedance adapter on this and it does add a touch of bass and cleans up the highs a bit - but stock alone without adapter is good too. Also just got a 75 ohm to try out. Skip the basic dongle and go DAC/AMP - so good. This is a sleeper IEM set for 156 or so (got mine 151 on Ali a couple weeks back),

    • @HobbyTalk
      @HobbyTalk  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I’ll give it a shot. 10ohms would produce about 1/3 the boost due to how impedance changes are logarithmic. But I’ll graph it so you can see it in a bit, I’m off today so have time.

    • @johnmcvicker6728
      @johnmcvicker6728 Před 4 měsíci

      @@HobbyTalk Thanks - would be cool to see this type of graphing done on every IEM review by the reviewers. I know the reviews are for "stock" IEMs out of the of the box but if we had ways to determine what adjusting impedance could do - and how to make good IEMs great, could be helpful. For example, my Q5 from EPZ are really trebel-heavy and an impedance adapter makes them nicer and less fatiguing.
