6 DAYS SOLO BUSHCRAFT IN THE WILD - Wild Camping, Outdoor Cooking, Rain Tarp - LONG VERSION

- This is the full trip, long version video of a multi day solo bushcraft wild camping trip, Tenkara fishing, painting, outdoor cooking and lake hopping in wild lakes using traditional gear and a packraft. The video is basically the past 4 videos i published from the trip put together into one. Some people enjoy long formats, here it is.
The trip was actually 10 days long but both my batteries and memory cards ran out of juice.
On these 2 days it rained a lot, 70% of the time. So the little paddling I did wasn't filmed. Most of the time was spent gathering dry standing wood, chopping it and storing it under the tarp. I din't film any of this because when it wasn't raining that was my priority instead of filming it.
The rest of my time was spent in painting, foraging for mushrooms and cooking. On the last few days I baked some bread using my small anodized aluminum cooking pot, works great by the way and no, I didn't melt. For this trip I brought along 12 charcoal briquetes for baking on it. You can use charcoal from the fire but the briquetes are more stable, compact and perfect for weather like this.
The tarp did its job sheltering me from the sun, wind and rain. Under it, my rucksack, wood and myself were always dry. New videos every week, thanks for watching! - Ric

That bread bun for the sandwich looked amazing! I never thought about using a small pot for an oven. The light weight of the pot opens up many possibilities for baking while backpacking. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, since I discovered these videos I can’t go back to the ones where guys talk for hours about their gear, how cold it is, how windy it is, what their beans taste like. That’s not what solo camping is about.
It’s about how it feels to be there.
I love hearing the wind in the trees, the woodchips falling on the ground, the crunch of the leaves underfoot, the crackle of the fire, the insects, the birds, the rain, the clatter of pots and pans, the spoon in the rice...

Ric is a great guy. I know that this an old video I am watching and I'll continue t watch his old videos as I miss him . He is in a better place now with no pain whstsoever. Really appreciate the effort you put into your work. Every frame is an art installation - rich with sounds, colors, textures, right timing, pacing, and composition. You inspire me to strive at honing my skills - even though I work with young children!
Now that restrictions have eased up here in Norway, I've been able to get back to things like this. My girlfriend and I will be camping out this weekend in the woodlands near my house. Watching videos like this have helped keep me from feeling frustrations I'd been feeling prior to that. Good work as always.

I enjoy the pure sounds of nature, the videography and the overall quality.
Couldn stop laughing at 12:40; Every run in the army was to end with you clapping the start and finish pole, and if you forgot, the sergeant would´n say anything until you finished your run.
And then you had to do the entire run all over again, of course with the sergeant comming along for the ride....
And since you where warm, knew the route and the conditions of the terrain, you where "expected" to do the run preferably faster, or at least on the same time.
That taught me a valuable lesson: Dont forget the little things, pay attention to the details and if you ignore or forget it, it will cost you.
Oh, and it taught me to never to go 100%, 98% is just fine, then you had those 45 - 60 seconds to spare, if you forgot the clap.
Or the sergeant decided that today he would crank the "im-a-dick-o-meter" and you earned an extra run just because you remembered the clap....
13 years later, i still clap that same post if im in that area, running, hiking or on MTB, and i kid you not, i have not missed a single clap for all those years.
