    I love murder mystery parties! I have been playing these games since high school. We did one last summer that was a Luah barbeque. It was so much fun! Your decorations were awesome!

    I loved your video. I want to host this party for my birthday, I went and downloaded the file. The only thing is that I don’t have 16 guests. I only have 7 people in total. Can I do it with just 7 characters? I know for sure I’ll need someone to play Felix Fontain, Edgar Fitzpatrick, Edith Fontano, June Palmetto and Judy Jordan. Which other characters are much need it?
    Thanks in advanced

    Your creativity is incredible. Question for you, as you are the one planning the party, you know who the murderer is from the beginning, correct? Meaning, the verdict doesn't come as a surprise to the individual planning?

    • @tonysicily2687
      @tonysicily2687 Před 4 lety +4

      Drew Kerr correct,
      The host / author knows the victim and murder. Just the same as an author of a book.
      To write a Murder Mystery, you write a simple plot
      Murderer kills victim with weapon because of motive
      Then you add in more and more details to confuse the story and to introduce red herrings

    • @walterwiggins8241
      @walterwiggins8241 Před 3 lety +1

  • @hannahjurgens6288

    Is there a way to play where the narrator is still a character? Or will it spoil things for that character?

    • @ALN1ER
      @ALN1ER Před 4 lety +3

      I haven't done a murder mystery before, but my idea was that the narrator could be the murderer, so you could twist things to confuse them, and contradict yourself and everyone. It would be a plot twist to know that the narrator was actually the killer.

    I’m wondering if someone could help me out understanding something. If I’m the host and I’m organising everything, I get you can be part of it or kind of oversee it. What I’m struggling with is how is it that people work out the murderer? Is it just a case of the clues just point to someone without the guests knowing or does each guest have to give away clues etc at given times? I’m probably overthinking it? Can someone explain how the guest work it out ?? Thank you

    • @eleanordoyle299
      @eleanordoyle299 Před 4 lety +3

      When I hosted one I gave each person 3 clues to release at certain times so my “investigators” could string the clues together and solve it. This is probably really old/late but I thought it could help

    • @tonysicily2687
      @tonysicily2687 Před 4 lety +3

      There are set Reveal rounds. As the host you control the timing of these rounds. If the conversation is flowing well you can delay a little. If the conversation starts to lag, start the next reveal.
      At each Reveal each guest ‘reveals’ a clue or a piece of evidence. Then these are discussed.
      Sometimes these are just quotes that the guest read out (this is called a “scripted party) a more free form way, is to tell each guest what needs to be said, and they work it into their conversation at the Reveal round.
      As the host, if a guest is struggling, you sorta prompt and help out
      Example
      Reveal round 2
      Guest 2 has to say “But Harry was seen leaving the store at 6:00”
      But...
      Instead they say “Harry left the store in the evening”
      So you say “Was that at at 6:00” or “Can you remember the time.”
      It is very much round based, but as host, you can try to smudge the feeling that is quite so fixed
