Born and raised in Savannah its racist ass hell
Say it for those in the upper deck..
I went to college (SCAD) in Savannah back on 2011-2015, and I loved the place, mostly. Sure, I had the luxury of living in a dorm all the time I was there, but I loved exploring downtown like Broughton, River, and Forsyth Park. Also, because I was a part of the Lacrosse club team for two years, I've hung out with guys who know how to have a good time despite these shortcomings.
I am aware of all of these shortcomings, and have mostly avoided them. Call me coddled, but I actually loved living in Savannah during my college years.
All the parks , the Beach, River Street , the historic district , the surrounding islands , some of the best restaurants in the country and it’s natural beauty 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
Man, for a realtor, you're sure not making moving to Savannah very attractive. We happen to love Savannah. My husband lived there and we still have family there. It's a beautiful city, even though tourism is chipping away at it's history. I have never been bothered by gnats. The only problem I have is they changed the name of the ball team from Savannah Gnats to Savannah Bananas. UGH! There is so much to do there for adults and children. Get the kids outside walking. There are so many great places to do that, like Wormsloe for example. Take away their phones, and go outside! I wish we could go there more often.
I appreciate the feedback, don't forget I'm a normal person just like anybody else who lives in Savannah, and made the video about the things I hate. Everything is relative to the taste of the person. Some of the things you love, a lot of people hate, and that's okay.

It’s a trend amongst realtors now, all of them are doing the love/ hate lists. Of course, they will leave out the truly bad things about a given place… 🤫
I was an educator 15 years here until next year bc I’m moving this summer for the upcoming school year to Atl. There is not much to like.. racism, failing school district (superintendent retiring and facing a lawsuit), high crime (lost 9 kids to gun violence in one year), as an artist on the side it’s too much separation between these artists and much got eh work I’ve seen in these jepson art shows, are not art to the test go the world. Such segregation between different sides of Savannah. If u don’t live downtown and ur friends do you are never going to see them on your side of town , they won’t even visit. Pot holes and messed up roads thanks to janes Edwards Oglethorpe… this is just a few. Lastly, and most importantly… SAVANNAH IS TOO SLOW! They talk slow, walk slow, think slow and slow to change. If u have a big personality, here is not for u. I have finally learned this, and as a gay woman , a gay woman of COLOR, there is no diversity in supporting poc who are lgbtq+ia… I’m done here and I’m happy to be leaving

You could go to Tybee Beach. You could take the kids skating on the new hockey ice arena. Festivals every weekend with family and pet friendly. Museums galore. Parks. You name it we got it. Luis, you need to explore more.

I’m a transplant too. There are some drawbacks living here. Sand gnats, the stench at low tide, hard to find parking downtown. But it’s pretty livable. Lots of townies here. I’m amazed sometimes on how many Savannahians never left. This is where they want to be. I hope you warm up to us. We’d love for you to stay.🥰
Bring your kids and dog to “Wagoween” in October. We will look for you there next year.😉
I am considering moving to Savannah. The vacant houses are of interest to me. I built my life and my medical research career by investing in broken properties. It looks like Savannah would be great for my skill set.
We could use you! Our medical resources are low and we have TONS of deserted houses!

Yep, I’m 53 and love it for all of the reasons that the older people do. I think it’s great that there’s nothing to do so it keeps a lot of people away. That’s exactly why I HATE Atlanta..too many damn people and they can have it!

We have been looking at Savannah to move in about 3 years. We have been in Ohio for about 20 years and are ready to move somewhere warmer with no snow. Thank you for your honesty. We are also Puerto Ricans

I lived out there .... Do your homework first...... Tourist area is good it's the outskirts where you will have problems...
I stayed in Savannah too long beautiful city but crime is bad so happy I moved to Florida.
Quick question regarding the pollen: You talked only about pollen in the spring, could please advise if you also have Ragweed pollen in the Fall? I love everything you've mentioned about Savannah but for me Ragweed could be a deal breaker because of my allergies. I'm browsing your videos and don't see any of the weeds by the road sides, which is good but am not sure of the time the video was shot. Thanks for the info though...
I live in Savannah as well and Hunter Army Airfield brought me here as well and I completely agree with you. Savannah far as things to do is NOT a lot of things to do ......Sure they are parks and beaches..but.....thats about it...sure there are tours you can go on...but NO, Savannah as big as a tourist attraction it is, its NOT a city of entertaining, it isn't.....its a very industrial town to be honest.....
Im former US Army Ranger Hunter army airfield from 1984 Im divorced and looking forward to retirement here in NY I was wondering how Savannah is today. Back then is was building up though it did have a crime issue.

I hate the gnats, too, being a native. Probably already been stated, but you must live above the fault line to avoid the gnats and it is definitely worth it to do so. 😂😂

Would you say Jacksonville Florida is bigger than Savannah or?? Seems like Jacksonville might be bigger. I need to visit Savannah, because I visited clearwater and I did like it, but I love the charm Savannah has.

Tybee is racist! As an educator I have seen it with even my students who visit for field trips first hand!
Also tybee is not a real beach. It’s a nasty mix of dead bodies from the past, pirates booty from centuries ago, filth and dirt. It’s the “dirty beach.”
Savannah has roller skating rink
The private citizens are responsible to fix up their houses, and clean the trash, not the government.
Army took me to Savannah too back in 2001 and was there til 2004. Beautiful city...gnats do suck becuase they're like cockroaches...immune to everything. Also, regret "Falling in love" with the ex there. People there are severely narcissitic and there is no real "Southern hospitality" there...don't @ me at that. Video is so true and on point though. for the south the cost of living is screwedbut it's because it's a military and tourist town so it's expensive
...and sadly most places are losing their "3rd spaces" or anything to do with kids. Savannah mall always sucked and was nothing compared to Oglethorpe

Maybe you should go back and live in puerto rico or to atl or Jacksonville if you have so many complaints. .
The rotten egg smell from the factories, the gnats, the I-95 driving mentality, school system and limited healthcare are bad.....Pro: everything is close, outdoor activities, cheaper than large cities.
