If I may, also with the low end it's important to pay attention to it because there can be a lot of instruments competing in the low end area. I usually do a slight cut of the bass guitar in the 80 hz area just so it's not competing with the kick drum. I also tend to cut anything below like 180 hz on the piano and guitars so there aren't other instruments competing with the bass guitar. Having CLEAN low end can help the mix tremendously.

My church is looking to replace its front of house speakers, do you have any advice on that?
It’s a really hard one to say without seeing the building. Definitely have a chat with a local contractor to find something that works. You should be able to ask them to demo some options for you to listen to in your space

Big room or small room? Bigger room could benefit from line arrays for more even coverage so the people in front aren't being blasted. Smaller room the idea is to get point source speakers hung as high as possible aimed at the back row. This spreads out the sound more again so the people in the front don't get blasted but people in the back still get proper coverage. Like he said, it's hard to know exactly without seeing the building though. If your church is big enough for line arrays though, you should have professionals come out for that. I DO NOT recommend buying/setting up your own line array system unless you're an audio engineer.
Great tips. I do all that you've suggested and still have a question. How do you mix multiple singers singing the same part? The praise band at my church is the standard bass, guitar, keys and electronic drums. The leader who does a lot of the lead vocals also plays guitar. Last Sunday in addition to the leader's vocal I had one from the keys and 7 other singers, 5 of whom were singing the same melody line as the leader. Only 3 were doing actual harmonies. I've panned some of the singers to the left and right but 6 people all singing the same part overpowers those that are truly harmonizing. Where would you put the unison singers? Right now all I can do is pull them back and listen to their complaints that they can't hear themselves on the live stream. Thanks again.
It’s a tricky one. I often do the same and drop them in the mix. You could have a conversation with them and explain why you need to pull them back and encourage them to take a different part. It’s definitely one of the things I often struggle with.
