    Finland, receives the highest proportion of televotes in Eurovision History, and yet loses to the most recognised and famed previous Eurovision winner having received the most Jury votes in history with a lead of nearly 170 Jury points above the second highest scoring country (Israel). Let alone Sweden NOT having any 12 points from televoting in each country. Disgusting, unfair and absurd System which needs to be reviewed by the EBU.

    Swedish Eurovision experts said that if people alone could decide the winner, they should rethink what kind of music they send to Eurovision, and that would be bad.
    This sounds like 1. Sweden can't make but generic pop songs. 2. They don't want to make any other kind of songs. 3. They think Eurovision exists for them.

    The maximum number of televote points a country can receive this year is 37 x 12 = 444pts (you cannot vote for your own country). Kaarija scored 376pts which is like basically 84.6% and results revealed that he was in the top 5 in scores of all countries. Meanwhile, the juries which are supposed to balance out the popular vote all chose to dump their 12p's on Loreen... I have nothing against Loreen and congrats on the well-deserved victory, but I can understand public frustration about the overwhelming disconnect between the jury and televotes which just makes everyone doubt the relevance of jury votes. Loreen's 246pts is 55.4%, a far cry from Kaarija's 84.6%.
    I know nothing can be done about it now and while Kaarija was my champion I accept the results. But it still sucks that juries chose an entry that was much less controversial than highlighting an entry that was much more bold, had more impact and originality.
    So yeah nothing against Loreen but everything against the juries. Because this kind of voting makes us worried that artists will play it safe and deliver commercial bops like Unicorn instead of experimenting and making the show more interesting. Most ESC fans are here for diversity and we don't want the juries to get in the way of that. Juries should encourage entries that are fun, bold, and not afraid to be different.
    And yea just balance out the votes instead of sending all possible 12p's to one country sheesh.

      It came to no surprise, finland's vocals were quite bad in comparison with so many other acts, actually I was already surprised he even got top5 from the juries since there were many acts with better vocals, which you know is what the juries should be evaluating since they're music professionals. Like it or not, the juries are needed otherwise you have acts like Croatia potentially winning just because people who don't take ESC seriously will vote for them just because. And yall are acting like she was last in the televote or something when she came in second place lol. The juries didn't have their way in the previous years, if this year it was their way, it was because the winner appealed to both them and the televote better than other acts.

      @vadimzgherea Před rokem +15

      @splattrick2432 So based! You are absolutely right! That's why the public can't be fully happy with this year's winner, because we know and feel that there is someone else who deserved it more, who received more votes from us, the public, the ones who actually pay for this contest (the jury just gets to decide things, but they don't contribute financially to the contest as juries). Eurovision is created for and around the public. Juries should either be scrapped or at least their opinion (as professionals) should be considered for only 25 to 30% of the final results.

      4. Many viewers did not vote for it because they wanted a new winner, although you need to rely on the song, not the singer. This is perhaps the main reason why Loreen received more points from the jury than from the audience. The jury adequately appreciated Loreen, for the vocals, for the performance, for the song. Not just because it's Loreen. If she had performed at Eurovision for the first time, I am sure that she would have received more points from the audience than from the jury.

    if the country who got the second most jury points, israel (177 points) had gotten the same amount of televote points as finland (376 points, the second highest televote score in the history of competition), sweden would have still won by 30 points. i dont think its good for the competition if the jury is able to completely overrule such a huge amount public support.

      that’s true, but if you look at the televote points since 2016, most years the 243 points that sweden got this year would not have been enough to make it to 2nd place in the televote, but rather to 3-4th place. the only song which got less points than tattoo and made it to second place in the televote was trenuletul from moldova in 2022 (239 points, so 4 less than tattoo).
