Tomb Raider Dagger of Xian is a fan made remake by Nicobass. He create the game by Unreal Engine 4. You can see lots of potential and more nostalgia stuff in the demo version :)

It's been 3 years since Nicobass released the first playable demo version of TRDOX. Recently there's another new update (Not yet the Croft Manor) about improvement and new options added! The following new stuff and improvements are :
+ Performance improvement
+ Photo Mode
+ Paint hint for climbing
+ New water simulation rendering
+ Alternative outfit for gameplay
+ Improved Lara's Animation
and more....

Still, the minimum system requirement offered by Nicobass is...

CPU : At least i3-2100 or equivalent or better ( My speculation)
GPU : DX11 or DX12 support GPU (at least 2GB VRAM)
Ram : 4GB (highly recommend 8GB )
Capacity : 6GB for demo version

Tomb Rider IS part od my childhood and i Wish play TR 1-3 again. I did Shadow od TR and Raise od TR... But IS not same vibe
If only they could get a big team working on this to create the rest of the game. My god I could not imagine how visually stunning levels like Wreck of the Maria Doria, Tibetan Foothills, Catacombs of the Talion would look.

This is incredible! I can't get over how amazing it is. I really want to play it I just need a good PC. Thank you for showing us the extras at the end. That was pretty awesome in itself. I would love to see what's in the music section.

OH by the way, there is TR 20th anniversary music included. You can also search it on CZcams. It's composed by Dean Kopri.

This was the best remake of Tomb Raider I’ve seen. The only other reboots of Tomb Raider I really liked from Crystal Dynamics were Tomb Raider: Underworld and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, as their themes seem to be almost close to the feel of the classics. But they missed it halfway. But Nicobass’ version hit me straight in the heart. I wish he continues making it until it’s finished, but we’ll never be sure until it really happens, I guess? 😭❤️
Don't think it's going to be happen. Just think about it, He only make this remake on his own. it takes few years to design this demo. Can't imagine how long will we wait till the full version ever finished. His current plan is a no to full version
So sad he’s only working on it alone. He needs a big team for this to fully work 😭❤️. If only that can happen. But anyway, the demo is still a dream come true❤️👍

I also love the models Nicobass put in there (all costumes of the Classic Lara and the animals) The T-Rex looks so good on this one I can’t imagine how scary it would be when encountered on this remake ❤️❤️❤️(Lara would probably be eaten in one gulp if not careful😭). My goodness, WINSTON!😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️. I miss him. The first time I played the original, he scared me to death while I was busy exploring the Croft Manor hahaha🤣🤣❤️. I hope the Croft Manor will appear soon. It’s Lara’s beautiful home❤️. Not to mention the Maze in there. Locking Winston in the freezer again hehehe🤣❤️.

Haha me too. I would Iike to see the Venice level in UE4. But for now. Looks like we only have Tomb raider 2 anniversary (TRLE) now. It includes Saint Mark's Square. We can imagine from that.

@@stevenPCGaming The photographer mode is neat I love it!😭❤️❤️❤️. It shows just how detailed the game can be. I’m also surprised that the dragon artifact secrets look so polished here they rather look cuter than before🤣❤️. I can’t remember if the number of secrets in Tomb Raider 2 have always been consistently 3, which makes us more confident to find them all. I think the classics never tell us how many secrets we’re supposed to find in the “Stopwatch” Statistics until we finish each level, or maybe I just forgot there is? hahaha🤣.❤️. By the way, the secret artifacts are so much different from the rest of the classics. It seems to emphasize the joy of exploration more than just finding ammo hahaha🤣❤️❤️❤️.

But in all seriousness, it's pure bliss. It's art. It's a damn shame that the guy wasn't commissioned to lead a team to make the entire thing. What are the Tomb Raider owners thinking not commissioning this!?! I mean, they haven't made a good game in years! It takes ONE GUY to make something great when the official Tomb Raider team can't do anything like this to make the fans happy.
they never want to bring classic Lara back. Even the remake of TR games. It's been 3 years but there's no new games.

A lot of people making these remakes using the Unreal Engine but the thing is, they would have to pay royalty fees to Epic much like how using BluRay pays loyalties to Sony. That why Game studios like Bethesda will Create their own game engine and just try their best of improve upon it. Saves them tons of money instead of a franchise paying a ton in fees.
I thought UE is an open source engine. But I don't know exactly. Just do they really need to be charged of fee for making a remake? Since there's no financial income or something 🤔
I like the remakes but still wish for return of TR of the begining , an anniversary edition of TR2 or TR3 , this reminds me a little of underworld ,

This is a nice remake of TR2's first level. It would be great if more was made or SE went and remade the original 5 games and kept to the old style. The newer games are too uncharted and rpg like, with heaps of foul language. Its just not Tomb Raider really . This is better, though more ground puzzles and less climbing in as many complex ways as possible. Again, that's seems more an uncharted thing. Thanks for the upload 😀

Not really. Nicobass design this all by himself. This is not a pay job. He has life to do with. So... He might finished the whole game 😥.

umm yeah I play with Xbox One Controller :O The official controller can be recognized. If you use the official one and it's not working. Try to plug in before launch the game :)

Not really. Nicobass is doing this remake alone. Not sure whether it will come true.

Haha that's not for me to decide. It's up to the author, Nicobass. Still, I don't think it's going to happen. Not just himself for this, Sony might not approved any unknown sources of game to be on PSN.
