probably my favorite thing of this ep besides the jokes and ankwards moments its that Steven wanted to fuse the best thing of each one but it ended up being the worst possibility, Alecandrite is gross, doesn't really like food and is the worst to talk with, is just a really good writing

Fun fact! Pearls in real life can be fully dissolved in vinegar, probably a good way to explain why pearl doesn’t like food.
I like how they reserved the reveal of the triple fusion for an episode like this :^p
I remember some people getting upset back in the day because Alexandrite didn't fight anyone in her debute episode.
Not me though, I like this episode.

Maybe Connie was just afraid of what they would say, after all her mom is a doctor and has seen many cases of dysfunctional families, and Steven's is not far behind, the boy doesn't go to school, he doesn't have insurance, he eats junk food and leftovers. of fries, he is in danger all the time, his dad is a failed musician who lives in his car, and he lives with magical beings who put him in danger. Actually, the fact that his mother died in childbirth is the least important thing, but there are still prejudices about it, in any case, by saying that he doesn't have a mother, his explanation is that the rest of her family is still in bad shape.
Talking about rose is still a pretty touchy subject for them, they like to remmember her for her life and not for the fact that she isn't here anymore. So just saying that she "passed away", especially for steven, is still uncomfortable.
I love how Pearl is disgusted by eating (and probably all sorts of other human body stuff.) We're used to it, but it's understandably very off-putting from the perspective of an alien who doesn't work like that.
That's what I love about the Gems. They can be very human, but also very alien.

You've probably noticed by now this show is REALLY good at making you see all sides of any conflict, also the crew are coy at either teasing plotpoints in the episode titles, or using the titles as a misdirect in later seasons.
Alexandrite is one of the coolest fusions in the series, especially that second mouth.
And then seeing what she did in season 3? So cool lol
This episodes are the most enjoyable to me, the pure comedy and chill + adding new characters (and fusions in this case)
