The Best Truck is a Dirty Truck | Chevy S10 Review

  • The Chevy S10. It's not made for mudding, it's not made for towing. It's simply a good little truck.
Everyone has a different opinion on what makes a "Good Truck." Is a good truck powerful? Is it a 4X4 offroad master? Is it cheap? In the case of this little 1990 Chevrolet S10, being a perfect truck just comes down to doing what you need it to do. Hauling around the things you need, and staying reliable. In this episode of The Left Pedal, Sodapop explains why this old, dirty S10 is the best truck in the world.

He then followed me on insta and I saw his face without the truck orgasm and ouf wasn't that cute anymore. So yes, this truck is a fuuuuckin chick magnet.

I bought a brand new S10 back in '91. Total cost of the truck was about $10k. Looked exactly like this one. I remember squawking the tires when I pulled out of the dealership. That 4.3L was no joke. I put over 250k miles on it before I scrapped it. I miss that little red truck.

I bought a little 1986 s10 with the 2.8 6 bang a little over a year ago and it's my daily driver. I'm creeping up on 225,000 miles and I've yet to have to replace anything major. Just about all I've changed is the usual wear-and-tear stuff (spark plugs, headlights, u joints, starter, etc). I love the poor little thing, even for an ole beater up. It may not be the biggest, baddest, pretties, and most powerful, but she's yet to let me down. I've put her through some h*ll and she's yet to let me down, or at least for long. I've broke and bent a couple things putting her through the ringer, but she's yet to give up

I had a '93 S-10 two-tone blue extended cab, Tahoe. That truck was beautiful, loved everything about it with the reliable pre-Vortec 4.3 liter. Liked the drive, feel, real gauges instead of idiot lights, put a glass pack exhaust on it with Kelly Chargers. Never got to use the AC as I hit a deer only 2 weeks after buying it, but I fixed everything but the AC. Only thing that went bad was the heater coil. Sold it for a steal whenever I was overseas on duty in Germany. Miss it everyday. Got a '98 Blazer now but it's been a headache ever since I owned it. You couldn't beat the old Chevy square bodies from the early, mid 90's full-size and S-10. Reliable, easy to work on. (Totally loved the retractable work light under the hood!) Sadly today GM has quality problems.

I got a red 1988 S10 just like that. But mine has been repainted bright red again and I had the 2.5 engine rebuilt. It looks brand new. My dad bought it brand new in 1988 and I was 3 years old. I learned how to drive in that truck. Today I’m 38 and it’s my daily driver. It gets good gas mileage and I love the 5 speed. I get flagged down all the time by people wanting to know if I would sell it. The answer is always NO. Nobody has enough money to buy that little truck from me. I’ve turned down 20k….twice. It’s one of the nicest original rust free S10s anywhere 👍🏻😎
Take care of that truck man. It’s a classic now. Few have survived in good shape. It’s worth preserving.

Anyway my grandfather was the original owner and won it in a contest. Thing litterly drove itself into the ground i mean that thing was a beast. Only major thing we ever had to do to it was replace the rear axle. Had over 300,000 on it when we sold it for scrap. Dang thing got rusted out because of the salt on the road. @@NotaMechanicJack yes! I got an 87 about three months ago and it's my favorite thing in the whole world! I absolutely love it I drive to work and around town every day in it. I had to learn how to drive it with it being my first manual transmission but now that I got the hang of it it's so much fun to drive ❤️❤️❤️ and I drive the hell out of it 🤣❤️

You don’t know how lucky you are right now. $900 my ass. That truck is worth $4000 right now. When I think back about all the trucks I’ve had (67 C10, 82 C10, 95 Nissan hard body, 2002 Nissan Frontier, 2003 Dodge Dakota, 1999 Mazda B4000, 1997 Ford Ranger) I thought they grew on trees. Can’t touch one now. ☹️
