    If you take the bottom door hinge pin out, jack the door up at the handle end, slip a washer in the hinge gap, put pin back, and the door will shut.

      This bugged me "stop slamming the door 😂😂😂"
      If u pick up at the window while closing helps.
      But the top hinge starts to peal off and the brass guides never get replaced then the ware the metal of the hinges. Never the same unless fixed.

    My daily driver is a 88 s10 that my dad bought brand new in 1988. I had it repainted bright red again and rebuilt the iron duke engine. 5 speed. It looks and drives like brand new. And of course it’s very special to me. Somebody tries to buy it from me every day lol. Not for sale 👍🏻

  • @TheREALOC1972
    @TheREALOC1972 Před 2 lety +11

    The thing about the S-10 that made it so popular is that the engine mounts and mount points for everything up to a 350 were the same so you could literally take the Iron Duke out in your back yard and put a 350 in it without having to mess with anything but the engine, plus they made SO many accessories and power adders for the S-10 it was crazy and they made it for so many years. My son and I just bought a 82 S10 that we are going to build. The vision for the truck is a "retro" late 1980's high school hot rod truck. like Little Johnny was given Grandpa's 1982 S10 when he turned 16 in 1988 because grandpa bought a new truck and he decides to build it into a hot rod/street truck. I have a 305 and 3 speed auto trans just sitting in a Vega that my buddy dumped off on our land a couple years ago after it was t-boned by a motorcycle sitting a traffic light, Were going to 2 tone it but we are to flip the color, the top and bottom is going to be the light bronze color that Corvette had in 1985 and the insert color is going to be the root beer brown that they used on the S10's for most of it's run, the interior is going to be dark brown also using the bucket seats and center console out the 85 Cavalier that he drove in high school. We are putting very little actual money in it just like a high school kid would.

      @TheREALOC1972 Před rokem

      @@jamesprice2163 Rat Rods are something that you just out stuff into and then don't do anything else with it, that's where the "rat" part of rat rod comes from, it's shorty for ratty, as in "old and ratty". My man, I love your review, my father used to have the same s10 92 'with the 2.5L, and he honestly loved to see and hear how it handled, just as you describe he used to work with it and in the spaces under the dash he used to put his menthol Benson and his Queen and the Beatles tapes. And he had that Delco stock radio tape player. I am from Mexico and I am currently studying engineering and in truth my dream would be to have the same truck as you described it, it was the video I needed to see with nostalgia, thank you.

    That's not the stock stereo. I have a 1993 S-10 that I bought new. The 1992 had the same stereo, and that ain't it. Mine no longer has a stereo. What it does have is an old school 383 stroker small block, and a Muncie 4 speed "rock crusher" transmission. The exhaust is my stereo now. The Iron Duke is indeed a great engine. The only other vehicle I ever bought new was a base model 1986 Pontiac Fiero, and it had a 2.5 Iron Duke and a 5 speed. I put over 200,000 miles on that car. My doors close fine. But the truck only has 37,000 miles on it. And I've owned it since new. It has been garaged since new. It has never been used as a truck. Original paint still looks almost new. Same with the interior.
