Welcome back to another episode of Not Today, Pal with Jamie Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler. We start off with a discussion about information leaks and the infamous Pamela Anderson sex tape. Everybody or a lot of mfs hated on nadavs laugh in the background but his presence and interactions definitely helped the shows imo... Josh potter, enny, and nadav definitely helped the YMH podcast would love if the original booth boys were all still on YMH... enny still funny or my guy but it's not the same chemistry with the new guys

@aliciaromano5541 not about where the video was stolen, but the video CONTENTS were filmed in public, so aside from "stolen property" ie, the original copy, it was publicly filmed. So nothing the courts could do, it wasn't filmed in privacy.

Hardly anyone does. Thousands of innocent people are being killed by a well-equipped military power, and the western media barely covers it.

I've noticed over the past few months that fewer and fewer podcasts, news shows, what have you are muting or bleeping other the word "rape" it occurred on this specific podcast. What is the reason for this? As a victim/survivor of child rape you are creating the the notion that rape doesn't exist, if it's for the people who may be triggered maybe triggering is what's needed to get past a word that holds so much strength over so many people. I am almost 60 and each time I've had to hear it in all my years it has gotten a little easier each time. Thank you, great shows, appreciate you both.

American here and im generalizing… but most of my fellow Americans are either completely oblivious to the news from outside of the US. The other bit of us only pay attention to the big world news. Example: when Russia and ukraine started, people had ukraine flags in their yard and posted stuff on facebook. Now that the israel stuff is happening, everyone forgot about Ukraine
I for example pay more attention to local news because there’s nothing i can do to help when something happens across the world and it only stresses me out
The western media hasn't covered it at all, and most people don't go far to find their news. That was part of the reason why I wrote the email.

The conflict in Myanmar started in 2021. It has already been talked about on the news a long time ago.

13:49 this is true information, at least as far as the coup taking over Myanmar. And I don’t doubt what the listener said in their email. I had a friend that was living in Myanmar when that happened and I spoke with her about it. I am not sure what her visa status was but she didn’t get stuck there like this person.
The sad thing is that the western media hasn't covered any of this, despite it being just as big of a conflict as Ukraine or Israel, with thousands of innocent people intentionally killed by the military.
I wrote the email hoping to bring some attention to the conflict and hopefully get an entertaining response, but I guess for them this is a really serious thing, whereas for me it has just become normal day to day life.

@@norab7432 You're pretty much right on target, I suspect. The only wars, conflicts, and disasters that seem to get heavily covered by the US media, are situations where our government wants to spend money or people. The US has no reason to get involved in Myanmar, so there's no reason for the news to start conditioning Americans about how bad the situation is.
And I understand them not being sure if my email was real or not, but they seem to have been trying to read it for the last 3 episodes. 2 episodes before this they read the subject of the email but answered a different email instead, and one episode prior to this Jamie had an email she wanted to read and it was printed out and looked just as long as mine, but Rob interrupted her and they got sidetracked. So you would have thought they they might have looked into it a little bit during all of that time to at least Google "Myanmar" and check a few news headlines and a map. I sent them a follow up email today though with a question that they would actually be able to answer, so maybe in a few weeks they'll be talking about this again.
@@norab7432 regardless, it was pretty cool to have two actors from the Sopranos actually talking about me and my situation, despite how scary and stressful the situation is. And cool to have them acknowledging the situation in Myanmar, knowing thousands of people will be exposed to that and maybe at least a few out of those thousand will have decided to Google "Myanmar" after watching this episode.

Jake, embassies are like state farm insurance...good in theory, total horseshart when you actually need them.
The embassy is fucking useless. They couldn't help me out when I broke my arm in 6 places and couldn't get money from the US either. Also the official policy of the state department is not to interfere if a US citizen has broken a law in a foreign country. That's completely overlooking the fact that it wasn't possible to renew my visa at the time, and that under the Democratic government the punishment was just a small fine.
Through all of this, I found out that out of the 100+ staff working at the US embassy here in Myanmar, only 5 work for consular services. Meaning only 5 people are there to help US citizens with problems (as well as being responsible for issuing visas to the US for Myanmar citizens).
