Finding this deck today...wow...I have goose bumps!!! I love that it feels post apocalypse. Like we've made it to the other side or into the New World. I feel so emotional looking at these!
The 3 of cups are one that makes me cry each time. When I was bedridden I lost all my human friends but my animals comforted me and made me feel so not alone so I know this one is going to effect me each time.
Oh wow, I can certainly appreciate losing human friends during a period of illness - I think that happens to a lot of us, sadly. I’m sorry you had that experience. I hope you’re doing a little better these days. ❤️
I've been bedridden with chronic illness for decades and everyone has gotten super mean. I do have a hubby who looks after me and loves me anyway, thank goodness. I don't think it even matters what kind of personality we have, this is a universal experience because most people actually suck, if you ask me. Anyway, I'm here for God, my Guy, and myself now. That''s it, and honestly that's all I can handle anyway, even if they were all still nice. This is definitely a Kafkaesque nightmare though, and I'm sorry you both had to go through it too.
I actually found it in a book store in the states so I had to order it. I feel blessed to have found it. Thank you Katey for bringing this to my attention.
Thank you Katy! I was researching various decks and came across the Sun card for this deck. It instantly moved me! I'm a "guy" who has been interpreting the Motherpeace deck since 1998 exclusively. Your explanation of the deck and how the deck came to be was very helpful also. As, I too, am making my own deck over the next year. Blessings, Michael in Phx, AZ
I have had such trouble trying to get this deck for some reason :/ I get the same vibe from this as The Urban Tarot and the Slow Holler, so I am very much looking forward to the new batch. I love how large it is :) Your take on these cards are wonderful :) I love her keywords, especially for The 6 of Coins which is a special card for me. What you said about it is so on the money too. Sorry I am watching and commenting at the same time as I often do :P
I did not think I would like this deck but after watching this I will have to get it. I love how they used such different body images I relate to it more than I could ever relate to other decks that only have pretty people in them. Thank you for sharing this one
I'm a new subscriber, and from England,I was really interested in this deck, but I have made my mind up it's not for me,so I am so glad you did a video on it,look forward to seeing more of your videos, because I like your views on the tarot, thanks again.🌞👍
Katey, thank you for sharing this incredible deck I love the art and how everything is outlined with a thin black line that adds to the beauty! Create happy memories, Katey!
I love the association between drilling and mining and the Tower card. I love that moon card too!!! And the Aces being the Root of their element is really nice. Thanks so much for sharing this amazing fresh almost revolutionary deck.. :)
This is my number 1 deck right now, and the only deck I have a backup copy for. You can still buy it from indie retailers listed on the artist's website. Truly fantastic deck and the small book is a gem.
It's a beautiful deck image wise, I could deifnately vibe with them. When it comes to the planet and zodiacs I don't agree with them so I would end up using white out lol. Still very beautiful. Thanks Katey
Yeah, there has been some discussion in the comments about the astrological associations. One commenter suggested that the associations were different because the creator seems to have no used the modern planets - like Pluto and Uranus, I think. I quite obviously know nothing, so they are more than easy for me to ignore, but I do wish the creator had explained their choices, as they certainly are unique! But it is an absolutely gorgeous deck, no amount of confusing astrology could detract from that! :D
Thanks for the suggestion! I will do that with mine. Because its very distracting as the association's grate with me. The energies of planets and zodiac signs and then the energy of the cards, do not match in the main. So I'll use Tippex! Boom.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
@Jayce Lane Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I didn't preorder it from Two Sides, I just ordered it when it became available for purchase, although I believe I got one of that last copies from her! So I'm thankful I didn't hesitate any more than I already did!
Hello Katey! I just started watching your channel and am loving your videos! This tarot deck is so beautiful-the artist/creator obviously put a lot of thought into it. I think it's wonderful that they went all in for social justice. I've never seen that before in a tarot deck. I love your opinion on the 6 of pentacles. I'm just starting tarot as a hobby (have had decks for years but neglected them) and I can't easily recall the minor cards yet, but now I need to go check my decks to see the artwork and think about the meaning. As for the astrology stuff, I do know a bit about that. The associations that the creator uses aren't incorrect, they're just old. Astrology itself is several thousand years old, and the planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were only discovered in the last few hundred years. So when astrology was first conceived and throughout most of its history, those three planets weren't around to use as rulers of Aquarius, Pisces and Scorpio. Saturn is the farthest planet that can be observed by the naked eye, and so the planets all were given two signs to rule, one being considered that planet's night house and the other its day house. The Moon and Sun being luminaries were only given Cancer and Leo. So the old rulerships went like this: Mercury: Gemini (day), Virgo (night). Venus: Libra (day), Taurus (night). Mars: Aries (day), Scorpio (night). Jupiter: Sagittarius (day), Pisces (night). Saturn: Aquarius (day), Capricorn (night). There's a decent amount of working astrologers today who reject the use of Neptune, Uranus and Pluto either outright or for personal use. The reason for rejecting them for personal use is because those planets take so long to go through the signs (for example, Pluto takes 248 years to go through all 12 signs), that they don't believe those planets are applicable to the individual, only to generational events/longer term cultural events. The people who reject them outright usually do so for those reasons, but also because it does take the planets so long to go through the signs and we have only known about them for a few hundred years, so they don't think that it's possible to really understand their impact with such a short amount of observation time. That's my preference, because when you think about the planets Mercury-Saturn, they've been observed astrologically for thousands of years. Saturn, being the farthest away out of that group of planets, only takes 29 1/2 years to go through all 12 signs, so you can observe it in different signs far more frequently than a planet like Pluto, which you can really only see in a sign 4 times per thousand years. I find the fact that the creator of this deck used traditional rulerships really interesting, although I do think I saw one where Neptune was in Pisces? Either way, their use of the planets and signs is really interesting, and I love how they used the minor cards to have the planets in different signs that they don't rule. That can tell you a lot about the meaning of the card and the energy of it, because different planets are considered to have different amount of power depending on the sign they're in. If you're interested in that for this deck and you aren't familiar with it, looking up a planet's signs of rulership, detriment, exaltation and fall will give you a lot of information. Anyways, I hope that helped out some. If you're at all interested in traditional astrology or just want more info, skyscript.co.uk is a great website with an absolute ton of information. If you go to their homepage and scroll down a little bit, on the left sidebar they have links to information and articles about all the different planets. The articles that start with "Traditional Rulership and Significations of ..." will show you the rulerships, detriment, etc, as well as a bunch of other miscellany. I'm sorry I wrote so much-astrology is that subject for me that once I start talking about it, I have trouble stopping lol. I hope you have a great week!
Oh wow! This was so interesting! Please do not apologise for the long comment - I genuinely appreciate that you took the time to walk through all of that for me! I can't say I understand it all deeply, but I certainly have a new appreciation for the diversity in astrology, and I'm glad I know understand a little more about why the creator may have made associations that differ from the Golden Dawn!
That's awesome! Yeah, that often happens where small distributors will still have a few copies. The creator has run out of decks, though, so any that are still available are the last!
Strange association with the Full and Saturn... I don't quite get it. I think, usually the World is aligned with Saturn...at least in the GD tradition. Ok watching further and the associations are mostly different from what we "usually" see. Which is ok :) But then the Minor arcana look thothy... so Im not too sure now hahaha Have to check! Anyway, it's an interesting deck!!! I so love that queens are men at times, and Kings women...I see the courts like this too- not gender related, so happy to see this depicted! Thank you for sharing K!
Very interesting the creator has decided to do something different with the correspondences! I do wish there was information in the guidebook to explain the changes.
Also the 3 of wands seem to be wrong , the whole system follows pretty much the traditional astrological associations...according to that 3of wands should have been Sun in Aries...instead it is Mars in Aries which is exactly the same as the 2 of Wands ..which makes me think it is a miss-print :( Other than that though I like the theme and the different perspective :)
Thank you for the full flip-through! :) It's very lovely. I have been considering this deck but was not able to really connect with it for the silliest reason... bec. omg trypophobia? I get grossed out looking at and/or walking on old gums on streets/sidewalks and it looks like there are so much of those in the cards. :(((
You paced this niceley Katey...Can you read these at ALL if not related to lets say the issue in Australia wh im not familiar with..ya know the politics referred to??? I dont know if thats clear!! Thankks for ALL videos!!
The reprint is a huge disappointment. No gloss, matte finish and super paper thin. I was so excited to finally get this deck and will be sending it back. So sad.
Wow! I was loving this deck until... the Ace of Cups!! AArrgghh.. Then you mentioned trypophobia, so off to google it. I have it and didn't know . Just suffered gruesome illustrations to find out what it is, but now, thanks to you, I am enlightened. No. I can't buy this deck!! xxx
This deck makes my little radical feminist heart skip a beat. I love this deck so hard but it looks to be sold out everywhere. Katey, do you know anything about a reprinting?
It’s available in a mass market edition now! Not sure where in the world you are, so not sure which indie bookshops you have access to. I know we sell it at the TS Bookshop and it is available online. 😊
@@KateyFlowers Thank you for your reply! I'm in Canada and it looks like the metaphysical shops near me are all sold out (one mentioned that all three of their supplies are also sold out). You made me fall in love with this deck. I felt very emotional quite a few times. Thank you Katey!

Deck #20...
I watch this vid in May 2020...
Does this deck has something to do with the riot happening now?...

Natalia I am not but with check IG now!
I did not think I would like this deck but after watching this I will have to get it. I love how they used such different body images I relate to it more than I could ever relate to other decks that only have pretty people in them. Thank you for sharing this one
I totally agree! I was a little hesitant, too, until I started seeing more images online. And I’m so glad to have it!
I love huge decks and I cannot lie!
Thanks for this really thoughtful review! It’s a wonderful deck and a pleasure to work with.

I like the line, too, because it helps me see everything more clearly! Amazing! Thanks, lovely :) x
Great video 😀 I love this deck! I was lucky enough to get a copy from Little Red Tarot from the limited supply she had 😀
Awesome! I'm a bit in love, too!
I love this deck I tend to relate to body type better they are not all depicted as perfect body types
I totally agree - love the diversity of bodies in this wonderful deck!
Oh wow just found another for my list, I can relate so much to these images, thank you so much for sharing.

I had the pocket edition on pre-order, on Amazon. Then, I took it off.
Now, it's gone.😭
it's available at silver sprocket --> store.silversprocket.net/products/next-world-tarot-pocket-deck-guidebook-by-cristy-c-road

Thank you, Katey! This deck didn‘t speak to me until I saw your review. Some of the depictions are quite extraordinary.
Aren't they just? I wasn't entirely convinced either until I held it in my hands!
I have got to get my hands on this deck.
Yesss! 😊
That 9 of Swords though... such a beautiful and powerful deck! I’ll be keeping an eye out for a reprint! Thank you for sharing!
I know! I love the Nine of Swords! Got me thinking a lot about how we read 'negative' cards. So good!

Thank you for clarifying that! I thought they looked a bit different!
Eeeeeeeeee! I found a big one online, for a not-to-exorbitant price, and free shipping!
It's shipping soon!
Do you ever use this deck anymore?
Yep, I love it!
