That was a great rendition -- and the band was fantastic!
His voice is like a fine whiskey it just gets better with time
the greatest soul front man with greatest saxophonist in the uk, what more can we ask for.
One of my favoritest musicians. Hamish!
That bassist, guitarist and drummer, the youth, jammin with an oldie but goodie, Hamish Stuart. Good things never die.
Kick arsh guitarist.. young kid. Thanks Hamish. Great teacher
I'm loving this. Hamish still have that soulful sound.
drums and bass are what make any great band
I love Hamish voice…. I can’t Say what it is it’s just Excellent and Natural, like great Spring water and perfect blueberries and MORE. He’s a multitalented singer, musician , Entertainer so glad I saw him early ON. Love Hamish and AWB. 😎😊🎵🎵🎵👋👋👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hamish is a treasure, and these kids are incredible (and teacher?). It is clearly a wonderful experience for all involved, young and old. Wish I was there!
AWB, favorite band of all time. Talented musicians never outdated!
My gosh, are you kiddin' me? He's still got his wonderful voice? Incredible. Been listenin' to him and AWB since I was a kid.
he still tours, amazing.
Holy Cow! How good is the drummer!
Good recording, good sound, good instrument separation, good playing. Hamish is great..!
this is a breath of fresh air to watch, only just seen this. We need so more of this youth and experience blending... has brought a smile to my morning.
That's a wonderful experience for the young people! I love this. Pair the elders with the youth and let the middle aged people grunt and work to keep things going and civilization WILL thrive!
great tune x legend stuart x
That's my Man Hame! Proud to have founded your FB Clan! Not much for sure, but give ya my best!
Hamish has an great voice and the band are excellent
this jamming session with the master will set these young starlets up for life .
Hamish is a legend in his own right! He and Ned Doheny wrote this timeless incredibly gorgeous tune!!!
That drummer is phenomenal!! Remember the name: James Compton
Wow 👏 😮 didn't know that.
i know im asking randomly but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot the password. I love any help you can give me!
@Shawn Mason instablaster ;)
I keep coming back to this video. Great rendition, it looks like Hamish's leadership acted as a softener. Consequently, they did not overplay and Everything is in its right place.
That drummer has clearly studied at the Steve Ferrone Groove School, he's got that thing locked down tight. Killing...
Love H S.....AWB had a white drummer when I started listening to them....that's been awhile
@@thomascoleman7862 yes sir they waited to play till he was available and he died at their number 1 party for pick up the pieces
Robbie Mcintosh......R.I.P. brother..🙏
@@devilsden2283He's alive
For real - and I wish I was playing bass on this session. Not because I could do it better - I'd just love it!
HS still funky after all these years....
Legend is over used. Here it is appropriate! Hamish Stuart is the fuckin' real deal!!!
Bass player be like "I'm gonna rock the joint and just split"
Great performance by all!! Refreshing and heartwarming seeing the generations grooving together
Hamish is all that!!!
Teach those AMC kids the real sound of music. Hamish. It's going to be lost if you " masters" dont prepare and teach the next generation as to what real music is......it has to reach down into your very being and turn you inside out. You have to Feel that heartbeat and pulse of the real deal of slow funk rythem. You go guy! 🎶🎸🎷❣
I know that I saw Hamish playing a guitar left-handed and here he is playing right-handed. Never saw a switch hitter on guitar before!
This is so much fun to watch and hear. Damn.
The Dundee Horns and Glasgow Guitars would be proud of these youngies and Robbie will be clapping the drummer!!
Wonderful stuff
The drummer is bloody awesome! Great job
Love This Wow!
Putting a little stank on the classic movin groovin😎🤓🤎
Awesome classic voice! Hamish....THE MAN!
Wonderfull !!!
SUPER!!!!!!!!!
Hamish still the best. The band is on point, such high quality.
Still love this man still love the music. Never knew he'd written this track I loved Chaka in the day. Did somebody mention Frankie Beverley, another great talent!
He Co Wrote the song with Ned Doheny
I live you Hamish!!
Just super😀😊🎺🎹🎸🎷🎻🎶🎵🎹🎺🎸🎷🎻🎙🔊🎶🎵🎹
That kid playing the solo had Hamish iling !!!
Even at his more advanced stage in life, this guy has a great voice. Some of the other great, older male voices would be Daryl Hall, Tony Bennett and Sir Cliff Richard! I saw the AWB with Hall & Oates and Michael McDonald back in 2005 in Everett Event Center, Everett, WA-one fabulous concert!
I saw the same concert in St louis after my chemo and I had the best time . 2005 Never forget it.
I wanted to say "Thank you", for your reply. I trust you've recovered, and that you've beaten cancer!!!
This is so cool. Hamish looks like some old guy you'd see in a pub, but he's still the real deal...
if hamish chose himself the musicians playing here , he's a master ...
if not , he 's himself a good musician :)
all of them together is , a fucking piece of music
That's tight!
Thanks for this upload. Really great to see the original Composer performing this tune himself. This is so unreal and such precious moment. Love it love it! Wow the student musicians are awesome too...that guitar that drum that sax....just wonderfully FUNKY
Unaffected, skilled, attentive to the job - a lovely bunch of people and great to see the young playing with the old and all having a great time. Adorable.
Jeez--this is one hell of a supa quality jam !! Tight & great sounding !
that pocket feels sooooo gooood

Never realized AWB created this song until I saw them live.
Stunning
Falsetto is not like it was in was in his younger years, Hamish will always be to me as a grateful soulful singer back in the day. His voice reminiscent of Frankie Beverley of maze.
Agree, never thought to compare him to FB who I also loved. Will have to refresh my memory.
Amazing
salve,salve👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
These kids are fantastic
Great guy! Great students!!
Hamish ...the best
My brother used to wear a kilt to slay them
Takes guts and talent to play guitar next to Hamish.
Yeaahh...!!!!
Go on Hame
I wonder what the students take on this session was? would be interesting to know.
Shame AWB couldn't have gotten together 10 years ago and made a HQ/HD studio DVD. A tour farewell tour would have been nice too, much better than the Ringo qll star deal. Steve Ferrone would have been nice to have back too. Oh well...
And he cowrote it with Ned Doheny
Singing background is an art in itself, just saying :)
yup😊
Que barbarooo.
Remember him well from late 60s with the Dream Police.
WoW
Where's Chaka 💚💙💕🧡
Great cover
It's not a cover he wrote it..................
That BAND IS TIGHT! If CHAKA was singing lead, it would've been extra 🔥
Would've loved to hear 4 part harmony from backing vocals
Maravilhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa,legallll.
Sweet as! Anyone know who the drummer is?
James Compton as mentioned at the end of the video.
This is a great live version of a track AWB put out in 1980. Hamish still sings and plays brilliantly.
Hasn't lost anything great
Still sounds good.
Bad Ass Band. Nice Chaka Tribute. Hamish & Arif Mardin all over it.
branwerks development AWB recorded this a year BEFORE Chaka. Not a Chaka tribute this song is all AWB.
FYI...Hamish was wiith AWB and they did this song first 1980 album Shine. unfortunately Chaka Khan released this verson 1 year later so HATS OFF TO HAMISH STUART ALONG WITH AVERAGE WHITE BAND.....
👍 👌 👍
Enoch!
really great solo well done
Indeed
Is that daughter Emma Stuart with the background vocalists?
Marry me, Hamish....
"I'm Every Woman"?
Listen!!! The guys got older, he'll always be one of the greats, but let's be honest the voice really is shot now. Saw them on their first tour with the original drummer, supported by KOKOMO (another great band in their time) and a few times after that AMAZING
I would like to have a shot voice like this, obviously time pass for all of us and every voice lose depth and colour but still an amazing singer and a real Maestro imho.
Fantastic job by these young guys, keep on groovin'!
his voice isn't as good as it once was, but calling it shot is a bit much, I wish my voice was that shot.
Vocally.. He's not in his prime but l woulfnt say shot. Alan Gorries voice is worse and they do gigs all the time.
What did George Clinton say? "Funk not only moves, it can re-move, dig".
Better than what passes for AWB nowdays.
Say what u want...todays version of AWB is still one of the best live acts goin
Amazing and very good taste version of a CHAKA KHAN classinc! 10 THUMBS UP
Alex Walendowsky Horta this song is NOT a Chaka classic. Chaka got this song from AWB who recorded this one year before Chaka.
Yes, I know about the AWERAGE WHITE BAND.
But it seems to me that it was the version of chacka khan that popularized the song
@@alexwalendowskyhorta9858 l know alot of music lovers. There are those that dont know AWB as the originators of this song. The majority of people l know prefer Chakas version.
@@alexwalendowskyhorta9858 you are correct.. Thats not a knock against AWB at all
these students are playing on stage with funk/soul royalty, hamish and snake.
😳 Hamish Hamish Mrrr. Hamish. Quick on the guitar and his band is keeping up! Some of the backup singers needs just a we bit more soul.
Terrible camera work. Missed the beautiful ladies on backing vox the first 2 choruses
Come through Hamish! Swear I just found out he wrote one of my fav CHAKA songs.. Been a fan of AWB since a lil girl,A love of your own still puts me in a trance... but I must say he could've done this without the back up vocals. They sound horrible..no bueno.. We need Chaka, show them how its done. The band is tight, keeping it on the one!
Chaka took it to another level.. Much praise to Hamish and AWB for being the original creaters.
That bassist, guitarist and drummer, the youth, jammin with an oldie but goodie, Hamish Stuart. Good things never die.
