I've learned the hard way more than once...you can be as rebellious and edgy as you want. You can stand up to whoever you want, but if you're in their house...right or wrong...you're the one who will be leaving. Multiple years of being homeless to learn that tidbit. Honor and integrity buys little food and all your friends who say "Yah man...you stood strong!" don't offer you a place to live.
