As a violinist, i really enjoyed this interview! I always see so many extremely talented musicians get shoved aside in the classical music world. She really is such a great example of someone who paved their own way through all that and made it, regardless of the critics.
Lindsey is such an inspiration I play the viola, similar to the violin, and I just love her she wants me to work harder so I can do the amazing things Lindsey dose
Good Day to you Lindsey,I hope your well. I love your music, dance & incredable personality, it amazes me. I've always loved the violin. You have combined all of your wonderful talents, for all generations to enjoy your many styles of music. I am an artist, & know that without the arts, life would be so boring. Thank you, for being you. Your music has made my days brighter. You are a dancing star in the heavens. Love to you, Robinbird.... :-)
I love Lindsey! I hope to one day be able to play at the skill level that she does, and while I'm not there yet I will persevere, mostly because violin is super fun to play. Maybe one day I can meet her! *fingers crossed*
I have heard the advice "Be true to yourself" many times from several CZcams creators. The channels from which I have heard that advice also happen to be some of my favorites. Another element--one which I'd like to get from smartgirls--is that I know some more about who does the actual uploading, updating of the channel, and interaction with commenters. It's in that connection to the YT community that finalizes a channel in my mind as a great one. Lindsey goes a superb job at it!
Lindsey, I love what you are doing with that violin. As a boy I grew up listening to Jethro Tull. Ian Anderson also used a flute in an unusual way and I love seeing this sort of creativity still exists. If you come to Australia I will be buying tix.
I skipped over this video at first and didn't really pay much attention to Lindsay on the round table episode, mostly cause I'm all about Grace. But about an hour ago I watched a video that was posted on my friend's Facebook, and then a few minutes ago I got to her "We Found Love" video and that's when it clicked why she looked so familiar. Anyway now I'm obsessed. Lindsay is utterly fantastic.
In addition to the "non-classical", it's that you can rock out with it. Because she trained since young, her body has learned sophisticated dancing with it. She is also a composer across many genres, which may get her regarded as a genius as well as propagate this rocking to other/all instrumental genres. But apparently, ppl go crazy over it (not boring standing ovations). This will get her followers and open a new wave of intrumental arts that was never thought to have been possible! :)
How I feel about my own life - absolutely. While I was learning the piano from when I was 4 years old to when I was 15 (I'm 34 presently), I was extremely dedicated to my craft. In a percentage nutshell, I spent like 75% of my day either studying or practicing the piano during those years. I would also write and sing my own songs (to myself usually) to help me stay on track with my learning. I also come from a family that likes music, mainly just singing along to the radio or music videos on TV. I also like to dance for pleasure and fitness. So, as you can tell, I am a very musically inclined individual.
I'm not a violinist, but I've seen violinists critique her "technique". For what it's worth however, I'm a mechanical engineer and by looking at these violinists, I would say that most violinists play with mostly what's above their chest. Lindsey, however, plays with her entire body. So it requires a different "technique". Likely one that has not been written into textbooks yet! :)
Lindsey is amazing and needs to be showcased on more programs like these so people can be inspired by her!
