    I visited my son in Maine over the summer . I actually saw three of these boats in a Marina in Yarmouth . They definitely caught my eye

    I see one crusing around in the LI Sound every once in awhile. Always admire her when she goes by.
    Looking at your vid, it might be hard to mount rod holders on those skinny gunwales...

    You missed the totally enclosed head compartment, which is appreciated whether fishing or used in other ways. Fuel capacity is actually 74 gals and the 28-32 knot cruising speed burns about 2 NMPG in light to moderate chop. Agree that increased range would be appreciated...but its main attribute is how it remains relatively level - no motor trim, no or little tabs - and can maintain a high average speed when in mixed conditions. Twin step hull, deep keel, sharp wave piercing bow - it is very much a different way to travel by power boat while being totally protected from the weather.

    That’s pretty cool. I know drastically different hull and size but the idea of an enclosed pilot house on a center console reminds me of Jimmy buffets custom freeman?

    those walkin style pilot houses make it difficult to watch the fish finder and fish at the same time. a open center console or an open lobster style boat enables that.

    I had the opportunity to test the 37 cabin in So Cal. Same questions you had. They did offer some fishing options, however, fishing felt like an afterthought. Too bad because the quality and price point would make it a fantastic option with a little more thought to fishing.

    Closed cabin and yes, low fuel capacity, kind of negate the fishing boat idea. Makes me think of the commuter yachts of old.

      Low fuel capacity is a big no no but enclosed cabin that still offers 360 degree fish ability is ok by me, especially in northeast

    I think the cabin would be a necessity with the lack of any “Carolina Flair” on the bow. Looks like it would be a very wet ride out to and back from the fishing grounds. Not a big fan of the European style bows. Just my opinion.

    I believe there 2 of those boat on Greenport. I see one of them all the time,cool looking boat just looks like is rides so close to the water for my liking. I could see it as a real expensive bay fishing boat lmao. But Gut and ocean boat not so much.

    since you posted a boat review, I have been waiting to ask a boat question myself. Comparing your see vee to Ricks metal shark which is a more stabile platform? for example, when drifting or at anchor which will get tossed around more? they are both about same length is there much of a difference.? if so, do you think its a boat weight difference or design?

    • @jiggingjerks
      @jiggingjerks  Před 2 lety

      My boat probably rocks a little more than Rick’s as it’s a slightly deeper vee. Otherwise, they are almost identical in length and beam….

      @@jiggingjerks I drove it for Liz Gillolly for some photo shoot with her sail boat. I think it was her mother’s boyfriends or something. I fished out of it for a few minutes while testing it out. Cool boat, but the fishability is lacking. Gunwale way too low

    I thought it looked like a cool boat, until you were hitting your head on the rocket launchers/rod holders over the cabin. Poor design. And 69 gallons of fuel? I can't imagine why the designers would've allowed that.
