    First outfit: Soft Gamine or Flamboyant Gamine, esp with the little backpack purse
    Next two outfits: 100% Dramatic Classic
    Final outfit: Romantic, esp with the cardigan or Theatrical Romantic (á la Mila Kunis) with the leather jacket.
    Hope this helps 😊

    Nice. Outfit #2 looks really good. I still see you as a Dramatic Classic, and think your clothing choices are too. 😉 Your light blue eyes make your coloring lean a bit "Summer" I think. But I still like the black turtle.
    I too am high waisted, DC, and wear ultra high waisted jeans and tucked or cropped sweaters.

      Thank you for your nice comment! Sometimes I still wonder if I’m a dramatic classic too but I never look like the examples. Color seasons also confuse me, basically the more I learn the less I know haha
      Do you know any dramatic classic creators? If so please share :)
      Thanks again for watching, high waisted pants forever!

      @@welltrying first I would say that all of these theories (color theory, Kibbe, etc) are just that, theoretical, and often become a fool's errand. I've been steeped in these for years, and now realize that when someone like Kibbe recognizes a pattern, and they try to communicate it, they must use some "buckets" or labels in order to explain their insight. This, of course, is limiting and somewhat arbitrary, as not all humans fall neatly into a dozen or so buckets. Even Kibbe has reassigned individuals and eliminated buckets... It's not like gravity or a rule of nature that genetically causes all these traits to stick together. I am a mix, but I don't think I'm a Gamine, which is what "mixed" is usually categorized as. I try to understand what Kibbe might have noticed about body geometry in general, and apply to my own body. Same with color analysis, there are competing theories out there, I've been told I'm Winter, was professionally typed as Spring, but I believe I'm a nuanced high contrast Autumn to use those labels. Combinations explode exponentially when looking at the big picture.
      Here's what I currently value:
      Learn your vertical proportions. Learn to work with them as far as hem points & necklines. Learn your horizontal proportions: shoulder, waist, widest hip width and decide what you want to bulk up, or to draw attention to. Balance depth of color by repeating the depth of hair color in a bag or shoes, and match or contrast eye color in accents/small doses, maybe tops.
      Personally I am very long from my waist down, long neck and smallish head so I look taller than my 5'5", but I'm very small and short in the upper torso so I bulk that up and wear short or long tops & jackets. I'm wide in my lower hip so I chose dark, plain pants, dark boots, matching tops as my cold season base and add warm toned, bronzey jackets... I have dark golden brown eyes, and look great in pumpkiny colors (which I don't really like and now that my hair is greying I don't like the contrast) so I also use contrasting (teal or plum) accents and warm reds for lip color; in warm months I favor lighter/brighter linen tops & dresses... So skintone, hair color, eye & lip influence my color palette... My thoughts. 💖

    Hi Ashley - I'm a fellow kibbe addict (and predominantly soft natural essence). Watching your videos I'm wondering if you also have some gamine in you? You always seem drawn to, and suit, the shorter cropped line. I don't know if you're aware but there are some folks out there who take kibbe's work, and distil this into essences - and that you can be a blend of essences. Rachel at Truth is beauty is an advocate of this - she has 63 style essences in total! John Kitchener is also a major player in this area. I had my style analysed by him and came out 50% natural, 25% romantic, 15% gamine, 5% classic and 5% dramatic. Knowing this has completely changed how I approach outfits - and means I can play with different elements much more to feel like me. I find it less restrictive than kibbe. Might be something you have fun looking into.

      This is something ive recently started looking into and it’s really helping as well! I think for sure there’s some aspect of gamine I just need to pinpoint it. Glad to hear your journey is working for you! Thanks so much for the comment, it’s going to help content coming up so thank you!

    I've been going on a binge with your videos lmao. I wanted to ask, have you tried asking chatgpt about suggestions with your kibbe body type? I am unsure of my typing but chatgpt suggested soft classic based on the answers I gave to the questions it printed for me. I even gave more detail than it asked and asked it to give me more questions to refine my body type and it still gave me soft classic. Might be a fun little experiment to make a video using chatgpt's suggestions with like a store try on(not really purchasing). xD Just an idea since AI is so popular right now. I really do think youre soft natural, everything looks so pretty on you. I'm still unsure of mine though xD

      @welltrying  Před rokem +1

      oh man, ChatGPT scares me haha I haven't logged on yet but thats such a good idea. Do you think you're a soft classic? was it close? That's a good idea for a video and I will definitely explore it! thank you! also thank you for your kind comment and for being here, I appreciate it!

    • @sophiab.282
      @sophiab.282 Před rokem

      @@welltrying Honestly I'm not so sure I'm soft classic. I'm still heavily leaning towards soft natural due to my shoulders, but I thought it might be something a little quirky and different, so I went along with it in the fitting rooms haha. Soft classic lines weren't the worst but not as flattering as SN soft draping.

    4:53 - Commenter opinion alert!
    I think black looks okay on you, but too much of it too close to your face is a little overwhelming. I'm no good at identifying color seasons, but you definitely have low contrast (light skin and eyes, lighter brown hair) so I feel like when you wear a stark color like black there needs to be some room between it and your face so it blends better, if that makes sense. In a previous video you showed a plunge neck black bodysuit that worked great on you because of the open neckline- which is good for SN, but I think it also helped the color to work.

      CZcamsr Commenter Opinion Appreciation Alert- I read this comment late at night a month ago and I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner. Since I read it it has subconsciously affected how I wear black, and I think you are right. As long as its not close to my face its not so overwhelming. Still don't know my color season, but this piece of info has helped so thank you!

  • @milo_thatch_incarnate

    You mention that some people say you don’t look the best in black, and some people say you do. We have very similar coloring and color seasons, I believe, so maybe I can shed some light on this for you, from my experience!
    I don’t know if you’ve gotten into color season typing, but your natural complexion looks very Soft Autumn or Soft Summer.
    Since you natural coloring is so soft and light, black looks _harsher_ and stronger on you.
    So, in one sense, it doesn’t look as good as softer or more muted colors would - but it _does_ make more of a statement.

    • @welltrying
      @welltrying  Před rokem +1

      I haven't gotten season typed yet (became very expensive in my area recently lol) but I think soft summer as well. Have you been typed professionally? Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it!
