I think what is missing is the most obvious question. I assume you then just make a call as you normally would? You don't have to do it through the carrier app, or anything like that?
thank you sir for the excellent video.
Glad you liked it
AT&T still wants to get a call to enable it. Wtvr. Great vid.
Saved my sanity trying to get my mom to do this! Thank YOU
So glad to hear that, Ed!

I had difficulty finding information on this feature. Even when I did, it was not clear. This video made the feature perfectly clear.
Man I really like this helpful video, and I HATE ATT!!!
Give visible a shot. they're owned by Verizon, and are super cheap ($25/month - Just be sure to join one of the party pay mega groups to get the extra $15 discount). If you sign up with my referral, your first month is $5.

What if your with Sasktel? Can you still get it?
So, if my iPhone doesn't have "wifi calling" option appear in settings at all, does that mean is not supported by my carrier? I see "allow calls on other devices" which seems to use wifi.. would that be a way? Thanks for your time
can you get charge in wifi calling international ?
iphone said I have to contact T-Mobile so it didnt work. How do u get around that?
hi i have ip-8 and my friend have ip-12 but both no have Wifi Calling options why do you have any idea?
Hi. I followed your instructions. WIFI calling is "on", however, nothing came up saying WIFI is enabled by my carrier, which is Verizon.
Mine either. Still not working
Hello , I like to get a smartwatch for Emergency calls only with WiFi do I need to connect it to me iPhone XR ,I do not like to get a sin card , what is my best BUY, I,M very confused , what would work for me , I live in south Ontario Canada
Does it only work on home WiFi?
WIFI CALLING is wonderful when do not want to use either carrier.
How do we know when we are using WIFI calling? If the WIFI goes off, prefer not to make a call
Hi thanks for the information but when we use WiFi calling would we get chared
Generally, carriers don't charge more for wifi calling, as it eases up on the pressure of the cell towers. But know that if you've got a certain number of call minutes that's limited, it will likely still count against that. Best to check with your carrier.
@@GeniusLounge thank you for your response
Dude your so professional at CZcams. I would think you would have 200,000 subs to 1,000,000. Subscribed and liked.
Elite Shots Thanks!
Hi I just got a iPhone SE 2020 from metro. I keep turning on my WiFi calling and it turns off
Did you fix it
I have wifi calling on I stay in Mexico rn and every time I’m on a call it’ll last a bit and get call failed like everytime should I turn it off because it gets annoying having to call back everytime will that help
I’m using I6 but can’t use WiFi calling it’s a network feature or mobile feature
I was connected to WiFi network but I still got charged for roaming. I also use T-Mobile.
If the person phone off and they WiFi can I call that person.
I like it I like I likiettee
Doesnt work overseas. I have turn the wifi calling on but still, I can not make any photo calls or receive text messages. Weird.
My Wi-Fi but it won't click over don't know what to do about it
I don’t have cellular
Every time I tried to enable Wi-Fi calling it says you need to contact your carrier
Can we use wifi Hotspot on different device to iPhone for wifi calling
Yes, a wifi hotspot would work if you need to use WiFi calling.
I have iPhone 10 pro sxmax doesn’t have this option
Any relation to Colonel Sam Troutman?
I’ve been looking for videos like this thank you! Yet I was wondering does this also work in another country?
It really depends on your mobile carrier. But most do allow calling over WiFi from other countries. Because really it doesn't take any additional effort on their part to make it happen.
Genius Lounge thank you.
Can this wifi calling work when you travel out of the US?
Generally, yes, but it depends on the carrier.
Can we use wifi calling on 3g network or airplane mode
You can use WiFi Calling in Airplane mode, yes. But it is only available while connected to a WiFi network, not over cellular.
Why does it take me to a website and won’t turn on?
This is likely because you may be required to provide an E911 address. Once that's updated, you should be able to enable the feature.
www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/voip-and-911-service#:~:text=FCC%20E911%20rules,in%20most%20cases%2C%20location%20information.
Will WiFi calling will work if you are at the the different countries?
If you are connected with wifi, there is a good chance you'll be able to call while out of the country. However, it might be easier and guaranteed to not get hit with out of country roaming charges if you use a service like Signal, WhatsApp, or FaceTime Audio. (But you should still watch your wifi data, because that's where those calls will be routed)
At my residence T-Mobile signal are very weak, so I’m turning on WiFi calling to see if it works at my residence. Shall I keep WiFi calling turn on regardless of my location ?
Yes. It's intended to be an assist for when cell service isn't great.
O dont jave "cellular" under settings.
Can I call someone in the USA while I'm abroad via WiFi calling and not incur international charges? Does the person I'm calling need to be using WiFi calling as well for it to work? Thank-you!
It really depends on how your carrier handles things.
They wouldn’t need to be using Wi-Fi calling.
But it would probably be easier to do something like using FaceTime audio or signal to make the calls. And it would be advisable to be connected to Wi-Fi, too, so that you don’t get hit with extra data charges.
So does it work when the phone off cox y would we need this if the phone on??
I think you’re asking if you’re using cox mobile, why would you need to turn on WiFi calling.
Because even if you’re using cox mobile, it would be using cell towers to get service to your phone, not your cable internet provided by cox.
This would allow you to use the WiFi in your home (or anywhere really) to make and receive calls.
You don’t have to use it, but if it’s an option, it doesn’t hurt anything.
So if your payment plan is pay-as-you-go. Is there still a charge?
You still have to pay for service
This just helps make sure you have good service if you’re in a place where there’s poor cell signal but good WiFi
Do you have to have Wi-Fi calling on to hook up to a drone so you can fly it and control it.
Nope. Those are completely separate things. WiFi Calling allows you to make phone calls over WiFi. The Drone may have WiFi that you need to connect to to be able to control it, but that has nothing to do with this feature.
@@GeniusLounge ok thanks for the info.
do I have to have a sim card for this to work
Duh
If I don't have service will it still work over wifi ??
As long as you're *paying* for service, yes.
As in: your hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so cell signal is poor, but they have wifi.
How do I put a phone number in for wifi
You have to have a paid plan through a carrier to be able to use WiFi calling.
2:05 tut
👍😊
Will WiFi calling work if you've ran out of minutes on a pre-paid plan?
I'm not certain. That's determined by the carrier. Probably not. If that's the case I would use an app like Signal, WhatsApp or FaceTime Audio if you need to make calls to others. Note: the person you're calling will need the same app installed and be registered.
It says contact my carrier when I try to enable it
You may need to log in online to your phone account, and enable it. Or call the carrier to ask them to enable it.
What if cellular data is not working ?
For wifi calls, it doesn't matter if cellular isn't working. Your calls will go through the wifi connection.
Is it free wifi calling
WiFi calling is usually free with a paid cellular plan. It uses your wifi to make calls. If you're looking to make free calls without a cell plan, you might want to look into Google Voice.
Next time make the letters bigger so we can actually see them
it doesnt show up for mine help plzzz
You might need to check.your version of iOS, and make sure that your carrier supports it.
Check this article to be sure: support.apple.com/en-us/HT203032
It doesn’t work for me
Why does my Wi-Fi calling go off in the house sometimes?
It depends on the carrier. If you have a stronger connection with cellular, it won't use Wi-Fi calling. But also your phone will do a check to see if Wi-Fi calling will work before using it (even if you've got it toggled on)
Wi-Fi calling isn’t there for me
I have AT&T and tried to get wifi calling. It took me to the 911 page and I entered my address and it tells me it’s not a valid address. What do I do now?
That’s a good question, might need to talk to AT&T
@@GeniusLounge I did speak with them and they straightened it out! I do want to thank you for the information that you gave on CZcams! It was very informative!
@@Chasarbo Oh great! So glad to hear that.
Available on prepaid subscribers?
I'm currently using visible (a subsidiary of Verizon) and WiFi calling works great
@@GeniusLounge yes
So does wifi calling mean I can call long distance for free????
Androids just don’t know they got it a lot easier
So wait. It’s called wifi-calling , but you don’t have to be actually connected to any wifi NETWORK? Idk am I slow ? Lol
You do need to be connected to WiFi. You don’t have to be connected to cell service.
2:08
Bruh it says contact at&t
How about Android 😰
So can I use it if my phone bill not paid or nah? Lol
No. If your service has been disconnected, you wouldn't be able to use WiFi calling. As long as you have WiFi, though, you could use FaceTime, FaceTime Audio, Google Duo, Skype, or a range of other VoIP (Voice Over IP) solutions.
