I wrote this song as a follow up to "Yeah, But Where's The Melody?".
A reaction to that song in a sense..
This was the first song I wrote for the album, and was never stoked on the final result... I couldn't physically play the 16th note bass on top of the solo the way it should have been.. To this day can't play it clean.
If you figure out a way to hold that rhythym while soloing.. PLEASE let me know! haha
But, had to put that idea out in the world!

Was just at a local bar in this man’s hometown for New Year with my date, and talked about musical influences, finger style guitar players, gigging, etc. Always have been an inspiration for me, I was so happy I got to sit in the presence of greatness and find out he’s the exception to the rule “you never want to meet your heroes”. Hope we’ll meet again, brother.

What can I say, besides perfect. I actually feel more words only cheapen the idea, perfect. As one example of many, the moment at 1:06 is gnarly, I am going to make a short to highlight that. The part at 2:58 is also deeply gnarly. Every @Nick Johnson track I listen to makes me a bigger fan of the music and the videos (love the ending also). I will tell you that your playing and sense of rhythm has really been impacting my original music significantly (on my channel, shameless plug), given me some new perspectives on the guitar that pushed me to a new place creatively. Thanks for the continued inspiration.

This is the single worst busking spot I have ever seen. SERIOUSLY though I love this dude. I love how there's heavy stuff in there, but it never loses that groove-based fingerstyle vibe, even in the Coda. It's still warm and organic. Non-acoustic music for acoustic purists.
