    You should always wash the car before wiping anything on it. It will prevent dirt from scratching the paint. And anything you wipe the paint with should have some sort of lubrication.

    • @DirtyTesla
      @DirtyTesla  Před 4 lety +3

      This product is specifically marketed as a waterless cleaner. It is insanely smooth as you are rubbing it on and after, so I think it would do a good job of picking up dirt and stuff as you wipe.
      But yes, I personally would rather wash it first.

    You should clay bar the paint to help with the effectiveness of shine armor. I’ve been using shine armor for almost a year and it’s amazing

    • @DirtyTesla
      @DirtyTesla  Před 4 lety +1

      I'm sure it would help, but I think the point is it's supposed to be easy to use. They don't even want you to wash the car first!

    • @kered2248

      Dirty Tesla Correct. I meant to clay bar if you wanted to take things to the next step. It’s a time consuming process but the results are amazing. I plan on clay barring my non-Tesla once a year. My MX has a full PPF so I can’t clay bar that one

      I’ve used products from Griot’s Garage since their local for me and offer classes but there are other options out there that are less expensive. My ICE car had a lot of metal particles in the paint because of where I work. I wish I would have done before and after photos or something but it was a major difference. Granted, that car was about 2 years old at the time.

    Dirty Tesla, the car looks really clean but now you have to do something with your tires. I use the product 303 AEROSPACE PROTECTANT on vinyl especially on the dash under the window, for rubber tires etc, also it protects everything from UV.

    @eHomeWalker Před 4 lety +1

    One quick tip: before applying any kind of new coating (even if you think your previous one is worn out), it's good to use a wash that will be sure to remove all the last bits of your last protectant. I use Wash Plus from Meguiars ( smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M5JZJYQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ). It also helps to do some very minor polishing as part of the wash and it's really easy to use.

  • @gregorycrum4182
    @gregorycrum4182 Před 4 lety +4

    Do they say it is ok to use on cars that have PPF & Ceramic Coating already? Does it leave any kind of haze on your windshield?

    • @DirtyTesla
      @DirtyTesla  Před 4 lety +1

      They don't say anything about ceramic or PPF. If you have ceramic, there are specific cleaners/resealers you should be using. PPF I don't think it would hurt, but again if ask the installer.
      It doesn't leave any haze at all. And it's not permanent either way. I did actually end up putting it on my back up camera as water stick to it so much, but I didn't get a chance to test it yet.

    I noticed on the hood on the left there was a reflection of the peak of your house which looks blurry while the reflection of a tree on the right (treated) side looks clear.
    I also noticed on the left the water pools and basically remains while on the right (treated) side the pooling is seen at first but disappears ~ same on the side on the doors.
    I don't quite trust that such a product gives a ceramic coating. I'd rather take a vehicle somewhere that does it.
