    So basically only one tag on flex is needed for all my repairs? Since I don’t need to leave it in the phone and can reuse it? Does the BMS then just restart and count down again as a new battery?

    No need to use reprogramer like JCID? Just the tag on flex?

    • @scooterdoo1
      @scooterdoo1 Před měsícem +1

      You need to purchase a tag on flex that is pre-programmed for the iPhone you are using. You can re-use your existing tag on flex but will need to reprogram it to reset the battery cycles and health. The programmer can cost $100+ so a pre programmed tag on flex is the way to go for a personal diy replacement

    I thought the whole point of soldering the BMS was to avoid the error message - why do you need the tag on flex to be connected first before removing it?
    I assume if you solder the BMS to the new battery, but don't add the tag on flex, it will still show error messages?
    I have the same Qian-Li tool and tried this process on an iPhone XS summer last year, accidentally broke the BMS board so ended up just putting in a third party battery since it's now not possible to get around the non-genuine battery warning.

      The tag on flex will trick the iphone into believing that its the phones actual battery and the phone will read that info from the battery and pair it with the motherboard. The tag on is supposed to link the iphone with the phones motherboard.

      @@mechytechy412 thank you, I'm a little confused as the BMS was swapped from the phone's original battery. Is the tag-on-flex capable of pairing a new battery BMS with the phone - in other words, is it unnecessary to swap the flex cable if the tag-on-flex is used? Cheers for your advice, very good video

      for ios 17.4.1, you might need to restore battery health through 3utools. install the battery with flex to the board and connect the phone to the pc. if the battery in the 3utools showing 100%, you can reset battery health to 100%
