I’m so glad to see so many people agreeing the Irishman was the best character in the movie. I feel like his character had the most development. They made his character so likeable in my opinion. I think they did for his character what they tried to do for Kaspers, but they fell a little short on it

Saddest thing in this movie is how the signs of the traitor were all there:
1. Didn't attend the in-between punishment moments (or HtB thought it wasn't important... fair enough)
2. Landed on a "safe" thing when they were being "punished" (why have an escape from punishments? Entertainment ig)
3. Reason for the rest was "talentless celebrities" but she was definitely talented, being a chess genius.

I'll give the movie this: the fact that it at least humanizes the victims is good. Like when they find out that Casper was just being nice to Hula and Irishman actually apologized for his behaviour, that kind of shit helps these films.

One thing that hugely disappointed me about the ending is that the final two victims didn't think to shoot the guards and make a dash for the guns to at least try to kill them. That would have been awesome!

For the Piñata Party, Nevin’s wrists were shackled from the ceiling but his feet weren’t chained to the ground, So he could swing on the chain instead of hang there. But he should try and touch Lonnie with his feet. He can’t necessarily kick because his feet are bound together so his best chance to survive is to make physical contact with Lonnie’s body by using his feet or push her if possible.

It ruins the punishment, because now you know there is nothing you can do if you are voted out. Other punishments, it could just be that they weren’t able enough, but this? Now we know there’s nothing you can do.
The real good survival tip is to assemble everyone and fight the guards.
As the survival of the players is needed for the game to continu, as so they'll hesitate to kill you, giving you the edge
This one is pretty unbeatable. They could rush the guards, best case scenario beating them and obtaining three guns, but they are still locked in a facility and the organisers seem to have access to dangerous chemicals so I don't think that would end well. Still, I'd rather die fighting on my terms than fighting on their terms and killing at least one guard before death could be considered a win in such a bad situation.

Man, I saw that damn twist a mile away. Out of everyone in this gameshow, Kat stands out hard because unlike the others, she is a chess master and a martial artist. Not really the usual type of person you would expect to be starving for another shot at fame yet, when we hear the Mastermind's motives, her inclusion makes less sense. He wants to rid the world of talentless hacks that become famous anyway yet, being skilled at chess and a martial artist are great talents to have. So her working alongside him doesn't feeling that shocking in the slightest

Had the same thought and was gonna type the same thing.
The best choice was to bum rush the workers when they first came in. They can only have a limited number of crazy people willing to be part of a death game. You are likely to die anyway. Also that ending at least go down shooting the crew instead. You then have two machine guns to battle with the remaining guards.

Disagree, fight one-on-one was not a challenge. The Irish man was in a great physical condition. And his opponent looks like a typical show wrestler: 95% of visuals and artistic skill, 5% of fighting skills. Challenge in a "you are already lost, but there is still a chance" should be a challenge, not a catfight.

It was such a terrible plot twist, too. I was already done with the movie when she lost the chess match, seeing as it's literally her biggest talent and I just _wasn't_ willing to believe that the kidnapper was capable of beating her.

when fighting in the dark the best thing to do is make as little sound as possible and listen closely for footsteps or breathing. That way you will stay undetected while detecting the other person's location. Also if swung fast weapons sometimes make a swishing sound as they cut through the air. By listening to the sound of the swing and it's frequency you can determine your opponent's fighting style.

Cat's character was well placed. She isn't famous for her looks or CZcams qualities, but for her skill, which makes her likable. She also stepped to the background so she would neither get the most nor the least votes.
For the analysis of the movie I missed the possibility to actually 'beat' the game instead of just 'winning' it.
Your chance of surviving alone is pretty slim (if you're not Cat), so the move should be to team up against the mastermind in any way possible. So:
1. You have to establish a way of communication the mastermind can't decipher (writing little notes and destroying them immediately for example)
2. Play by the rules, but look for non-fatal options. Not all challenges have to end in a death.
3. Prepare for an ambush on the Panda guys with the MGs. It's not likely to take them on without casualties but you're on a number advantage and can use the interior, dishes and glasses to trouble their aim.
Once armed and maybe even a hostage, you might improve your chances of survival.
The audience might even approve this

I think once you know the story, you know that even if you found yourself here, it would be impossible to escape. Kat (or Cat) turned out to be in on the act from the very beginning, so it is clear that the mastermind would want her, and her alone to be the only survivor. I think that it was meant for her to escape, so no one else could possibly escape.

For everyone who keeps saying to just shoot the panda staff, you don’t realize that by shooting them, you’ve just tried to cheat the game and therefore will be punished even more. More panda staff can just replace the ones you shot and it won’t change the fact that you’re trapped underground with someone watching over you, making sure you die. Can't forget that even if one of them lived, the game was rigged from the start so the guys girlfriend could win, Nobody even had a chance of survival. Double self elimination was the best option considering it was painless.
The pandas were armed, there is a chance to get their weapons and wait for more panda staff to come. There is also a chance that the panda workers won’t gun them down for the sake of entertainment.
Not to mention they just have a pair of shitty single-shot flintlock pistols while the staff have modern automatics with the skill to use them. If there was a way out, that wasn't it

Kasper and Lonni could've organized a Plan where they try to fake a suicide, almost pull the trigger, before pointing their flintlocks quickly at The 2 Guards in The Room. Ditch their flintlocks and take the rifles to shoot down the cameras and hold their ground in The Execution Room.

It makes the whole film seem pointless and removes the fun of it all tbh. I'd much prefer if the winner wasn't secretly part of it.

I watched the film and honestly the irish guys death was the most emotional in the movie, and his death actually made me sad he also was probably one of the best characters in the film.

This movie didnt do well enough to even garner a profit. I think the budget was around 500,000 dollars with a world wide gross of 114,000 dollars. So it was a pretty big flop commercially .

at the last game, they could try to shoot the guards and steal their guns, even with more guards appearing on the place ,the participants would have machine guns to defend themselves, this way they might survive. Even though it's risky it is worth to try it.
Yeah i thought of this too,i wouldve probably shot them in their bodies as idk if the helmets are protective or not but a shot in the body would wound them long enough to steal their guns
The truth is I only saw about 3 or 4 guards anyway so it likely not a vey big staff. the only Issue is you have to do it on the fly because you always monitored but you might be able to do simple looks to tell others to be ready. They should have done it after Dex broke window 5v3 in a small room in not bad odds.

I know this is late but there is an OP strategy for beating the matching game. If you bring all the cards into the centre, so 16 cards are almost touching each other, you can easily flip them without having to move around. As you can move the 4 centre cards close and then sprint to the corners and move them 3 at a time, after 30 seconds every card is in arms reach so you can easily complete the puzzle

@@coolguy082 yeah. But it's not because à black and white bear like animal is hosting a death game it's a danganronpa reference. It could have been a tiger or a monkey. I think the Panda is a clever choice because they are often seen as cute and pure creatures and are overly protected, which is a huge contrast with the murderous beast in this movie.
I'm just sick of people trying to find references in things when there are none.

In the pistol duel, there was an option to simultaneously shoot the two guards,
and seize their automatic weapons. Then, making a stand to try and shoot their
way out of the complex. Granted, it might have not worked, if there was some
kind of gas system in place or whatever, but it still would be better to go out
swinging and take some of the enemies down with them in the process.
Actually, during the memory game, she could've easily just pulled every card towards the center and look through there. Remove the ones you know already and arrange them then bam

Yeah and if I don’t think of that I would put specific cards facing certain directions to help me find which cards I need
but running the risk of pissing off the gamemaster and getting shot in the back of the head
