Always a fan of impromptu events, Paul took to Times Square on Friday 10th October 2013 to do a free unannounced gig in New York City. PaulMcCartney.com was on hand to capture the event in this exclusive behind-the-scenes video.
Paul arrived shortly after 1pm to perform four tracks from the 'NEW' album with his band in the back of a truck parked on 46th and Broadway.
Fans crowded around the makeshift stage to get an up-close view of Paul who commented during the event, "We only get fifteen minutes up here. Andy Warhol predicted that I would get 15 minutes of fame. This is it!" He also took time to thank the NYPD for allowing him to perform in such a busy and iconic part of the city.
Fans outside of New York were able to tune in to the event via a webcam situated in Times Square.

I got to see Paul live for the first time this year and I won the tickets. It was easily the greatest show I have ever seen and as a lifelong Beatles fan, I can't believe how lucky I was to have won those tickets. It was such an honor just to be in the same location as him.
I'm the guy in the knitted hat and I just found out that this video exists and holy moley is all that I can say.
Danny Henry I have to say, I'd probably be jabbering even less coherently than you were had I been in that situation.

Brilliant little ditty with Paul's dyed eyebrows..lol.
I was lucky enough to see him in Austin on his Out There tour. He'd never played in Austin, but he seemed pretty familiar with Austin's reputation for terrific live music. For many years, my all time favorite concert was Led Zeppelin at the Forum in L.A. in 1977 on the last of their seven nights at The Forum. That is now #2 behind Paul McCartney in 2013. Calling Paul a musical genius just seems to be so inadequate a description.
The young guy with the knitted hat is...you know...CRAZY. But a real fan, he was really excited. Paul has that effect on people.
