My neighbor had one of these sitting in his garage... hadn't driven it in quite a few years. He just sold it to me for $500 and I'm starting the process of getting it up and running. Super psyched!
I just finished rebuilding my 94 CBR 900RR after being down for 5 years. I've owned it since 2002 but since moving to Montana and her catching on fire from a cracked petcock it's spent a long time on the operating table. Be safe.
I'm getting mine back up after 6 years being down due to a SUV coming into my lane around a corner but picked up the last of the parts I need yesterday I'm so excited to get back on my 94 thanks for reminding me why I kept it all this time
nice :) got one of those built 93, and also love the round headlights, almost 50k miles on the clock and still goes great, and this bike is also a joy to work on, simple and most things can be done without special tools, would buy one again :þ to bad we wont meet on the road though live on other side of big puddle
I just picked one up. I was told it's a 95 but it has the 94 front fairing. With dual headlights. I'm excited to fix it and ride it. It needs some love for sure
I have this same bike just with the different headlights and extended swing arm. I could just sit on the phone with you for an hour talking about this bike I can tell you love it lol.
No doubt. I absolutely love it. When I got it I told my ol' lady I was "getting it sell." This was almost 2 years ago. DNA tests prove... that was a lie 😏. Love that bike. Nothing like those 4 bangers with the carbs. Pure magic.
If it's going to be your only bike that you depend on I seriously suggest getting something made in this century. If you've got multiple bikes, and you aren't going to beat the piss out of daily, I say go for it. These are old bikes with old bones.
You know I'm going to make all the mistakes you said someone shouldn't. This is going to be my first bike. And I'm going to ride it as much as possible
i have 1997 model with fox eyes , bike have 79.000 km on the colck , the only problem i have with this bike is the sound and vibration from the clutch basket when engine is cold .When i press the clutch the noise and vibrations gone .
@oldschoolflavaful @holymacarena fin With a bike with such high mileage the clutch probably needs adjusting, or worse a new clutch. Not sure, I'm not a mechanic.
@@holymacarenafin2319 I talked to few bikers and they said me that is the common defect on clutch basket sc28 and sc 33 model , you can fix it but after some time it will start to vibrate again .
I've had a GSXR 750. You can't go so fast by these narrow ways, you'll end up dead or seriously injured. There is lots of situations that at that speed, you can't handle. If you want to go so fast, go to a circuit or a wide highwide. I know you cant see this at your age...
Is it going to be your only bike? first bike? I only say because a bike made in this century (like the 03 gsxr) will be a lot more reliable than a bike that's 10 years older (like the 94 cbr). Nothing wrong with a GSX-R. I've owned one before (07 750) and they're great bikes
@@BikesNThings Yes it will be my first bike the cbr has 5000 km on it and the gsxr600 has 23.000 km but I'm 6 foot 293lbs so I'm just wondering if I might be to big for the 600
@@Adam-pr1gl Looks like the algorithm didn't like my last comment. Shocking. Anyway, I suggest the '03 600. For starters, it's a bike made in this century, and it's 10 years newer than the 94. With your first bike, you're going to want to spend all your time riding it, not looking at it in your garage, wondering how you're going to fix it. Trust me on that one. Plus finding parts for the old CBR is going to be a real pain. Trust me on that one too. Second, the 900RR is way too much bike for a new rider. Unless you're trying to hurt yourself on purpose, I'd stay off it until you can get on it confidently. No disrespect, but nobody gets on a unicycle for the first time knowing how to ride one, and it's the same thing with liter bikes. Except the consequences can be deadly. As far as comfort goes, supersports are not comfortable. None of them are. They're not made for comfort, they're made for going fast. You're not going to be any bigger on the 600 than you are going to be on a liter bike. Even at your weight, it's not going to be short on power either. Plenty of guys your weight ride these bikes with a 200 pound girl on the back. Anyway, good luck. If I could give you one last piece of advice, take the MSF course. \m/

Do not know how true it is but heard running a straight pipe on a street bike ie is very bad on the valves, from what I heard manufacturer's build the engines to have a certain amount of back pressure to run correctly, again not sure if this is true but I would consult with a pro Honda mechanic tech before running a straight pipe long-term. of course if running straight pipe use great caution not to be too lean which causes engine damage, and running straight pipe is terrible for the environment, planet.exhausts exist for a reason. You could always go with a louder but law and environment more compliant pipe. If you do find out from mechanic if straight pipes can damage engines please let everyone know.. just curious if that's true. I have a 98 CBR918RR Fireblade.
That popping on the overrun is your bike running lean. If you're going to stick with a straight pipe, consider rejetting it. I have a 1992 😁 Btw, love the way you say Yoshi-murra 🤌😆🤌
I actually had some bad gas in it when this filmed. You're the only one that's noticed besides me. I mention it in the video, when the bike backfires. These bikes love high test ethenol free gas. Unfortunately that stuff isn't easy to come by around here. Would love to see a video of your 92.
@@BikesNThings will upload one soon! Gotta change the plugs, as I flooded it. Bad gas 😂 I noticed because mine pops on the over-run too.
