  • @sublimetulii23
    @sublimetulii23 Před rokem +27

    Fun facts & also gun facts: Keanu did 90-95% of his own stunts in the first 2 Wick movies. Keanu was trained how to shoot all the guns in the movie in real life & be as proficient, fast & accurate in all his gun handling & shooting skills. John Wick is the first movie in history that actually fired the correct amount of bullets that the magazines held & reloaded his guns at the correct times & in proper positioning (behind cover or concealed) during the gun fights. The series are the best gun fighting movies because everything Keanu does is realistic in all gun related situations with the correct amount of bullets fired before every magazine change with proper techniques throughout. Also, shooting through glass does crazy things with bullets because they don’t follow their initial trajectories. The types of glass, glass angles (car windshield), shooting angles, shooting distance, velocity of the bullet at impact, types of bullets, calibers & grain weights of bullets all can affect the trajectory. Shooting from inside a vehicle out the windshield, a bullet will actually hit higher than where you aim for instance. They’re very tough shots to be accurate with & that’s how I reason that John missed the son in the club.

      Also, armoured glass by the spider webbing- looking at the clientele of the Red Circle, the stairs down to the baths were a 'weak' spot where one could form a hold point to wipe out everyone in the pool. Armoured glass, good enough to stop a 44, would result in a miss unless you put three rounds through the same spot.

    26:16 Small little detail: In the initial scene with Francis, the number of kilos he dropped when converted to pounds is the number of guards there are in the club. "Over 27 kilograms" is a coded message for "there are over 60 guards in the club".
    And since Francis was being cooperative, John decided to let him go, out of respect.

    24:20 he wasn’t technically missing, if the glass had not been there he would have hit him in the first couple shots, the glass (as any solid object) changed the speed and trajectory of the bullet, that’s why in the Army they taught us to fire until you make med hole in the glass and shoot through that.

      Not the case. You think a professional assassin like John Wick doesn't know how to compensate for that, especially when he has time to line up four very deliberate shots? Especially after looking him in the eyes as he shot one of his bodyguards when he could have very easily just shot him? No way.
      He missed DELIBERATELY, because he doesn't want it to be quick and painless. He wants Iosef running for his life, terrified out of his mind, questioning ever crossing paths with him and hopeless of any escape from the inevitability that is John Wick...and THEN he wants him dead. That's also why John saves Iosef for last at the safehouse. He could have easily just shot Iosef with that sniper, but instead chose to drill his friend and his bodyguards right in front of him, one after the other, until Iosef is the only one left.

      Or, considering that John had every chance to shoot Iosef in the pool but instead decided to terrorize him by shooting his bodyguard in the face as he stared dead into his eyes, maybe he missed on purpose to further terrorize the sniveling little shit who'd crossed him because he doesn't want it quick and painless, he wants Iosef to SUFFER before he dies, and physical suffering is nothing compared to the suffering of mortal terror and hopelessness against the inevitability that is John Wick.
      You even see that in the later scene at the safehouse. John could have EASILY just drilled Iosef with the sniper and been done with it. He didn't. He saved him for last.

    Most people dont realize that its pretty much common when someone get shot with a 9mm pistol the bullet don't get through when hitting the body. And also all of them are professional hit men and wouldn't make some rookie mistake like that to getting killed by their own shots. Don't act like if that scene with Perkins dying was some mistake by the producers. Its hard to make a movie like that and it would be stupid to underestimate the professionals involved .
    I recommend you guys to watch the training that Keanu Reeves actually had to do for making this movie right. Its absolutely impressive and it is on CZcams.

    When your wife mentioned how the weather during a funeral correlates to a person's benevolence in life (I'm paraphrasing), it brought a tear to my eye thinking of the family I lost in the last couple years, specifically their funerals and how much it rained or snowed during... May just be a superstition but it's a comforting thought

    The action scenes are so great because they didn't cheat. Counting bullets and reloading on screen. The directors were stunt coordinators, and know acrion. And Keanu _trained_, and can do that gun handling in real life.

    A Scanner Darkly is an underrated Keanu movie. A weird and interesting movie. From Wikipedia:
    The film was shot digitally and then animated using interpolated rotoscope, an animation technique in which animators trace over the original footage frame by frame, for use in live-action and animated films, giving the finished result a distinctive animated look.
