Do you know what an M-97 flamethrower sounds like? It roars like a dragon, a fiery God purging everything in its path. Hold down that trigger and the whoosh drowns out everything else. Why is there a Star Wars Related Comment in nearly every History Video.
The various characters and factions within Star Wars it's self was inspired by tons real-world historical setting. George Lucas mentioned countless times that the Empire faction within Star Wars was directly modelled after Germany during WW2, you can obviously see a lot of similarities with the uniform the Empire wore down to the hats, and boots, meanwhile the helmet worn by the iconic stormtrooper and Darth Vader design was taken from those of Imperial Japanese Samurai armor. The term stormtrooper was conceived by Germany ever since WW1 to refer to their version of shock troopers and later Sturmabteilung (Storm Detachment) troops by the SS during WW2.

Why Usa cries about war crimes when some another country does them but still its ok if U.S does them
@@vanessauosukainen7631 the act of revenge. When your sister or brother punches you donât you want to punch them back and snitch on them of doing so? Itâs a very simple human nature that nobody understands in these comments, but killing people because you donât like them is a whole different level.
@@Robb64393 yeah fair point tho. I just still find it funny when some dude in middle east uses gas to attact his own people U.S needs to go there because its war crime
But this is what the Geneva convention (is supposed to) stop

Years ago, I read that Eleanor Roosevelt read a secret report of U.S. war atrocities that was made before the war even ended and was very concerned about such soldiers returning to civilian life after behaving so barbarically. There was a lot of alcoholism and wife abuse by veterans, undoubted some of it was a result of having to pretend they behaved better than they did. At this point, I'd like the U.S. to just admit we were not perfect, but the atrocities were not official government policy, just a lack of leadership and oversight. Also, honor any civil claims brought by the victims or their surviving families. It is probably too late for much compensation at this point, but if anyone sues and can document their claim, the government should try to settle.

In terms of war crimes in WWII, prolific indiscriminate strategic bombing of cities on both sides is the most egregious.
It's safe to say the RAF had the Luftwaffe beat there. Compare how the German city of Dresden looks to the reasonably well-preserved cities of England which still have a lot of 18th-19th century architecture or even older still standing. Urban Germany is all concrete pretty much.
It's war. The bloodiest war in human history. These men, no doubt lost parts of their humanity.
