- This Pentatonix reaction is genuinely my first time ever seeing or hearing their "90s Dance Medley". Some absolute genius works of magic in this arrangement. So impressive, and a great selection of songs in there too. Well done Pentatonix.

Auto tune on Believe as homage to Cher.

Yes. Pentatonix always makes a tribute to the original record so the autotune on the Cher song is literally there because that is popular called "Cher Effect" as she was the one that made it famous
I love the homage to Cher with the effect (autotune turned all the way up) used as an effect only.

they do a few audio effects on this one to pay homage to the originals. However, there is a video of them doing this live at the Hollywood Bowl without the effects and it sounds pretty damn close
Recommend their cover of Sound Of Silence.
In deference to Cher they used autotune...because she did.

To appreciate it, listen to a bit of the original by Kiiara. You won’t believe what Mitch is able to do that she used studio effects to produce. It’s really a great damn job they do. It’s in my top 5 for sure!
@@heidi_d Thank you, I usually say this, but you beat me to it. I swear it took 5 computers running 24/7 for over a week to add all those effects to her voice, Mitch isn't perfect, but he's close enough, and if he was perfect it would sound like crap also.

They’ve done this live at the Hollywood bowl back in September. If you want to check that out, there’s no massive production or auto tune, literally just their voices it’s 👌🏼

I'm joining in the chorus recommending that you check out the recent live recording, from September 2022 at the Hollywood Bowl. You'll get an idea of what's them (95%) and what's studio enhancement on the official videos.

It's nice to see someone that knows what they are talking about, also being more concerned with stateing the facts, whatever they are instead of just blind praise to keep subscribers, Here's wishing you a long happy time at this. Now, just for giggles, do a YT search for "live" recordings of some of the songs you have done, just to see how they sound live, that's when you'll be impressed. Keep up the good work, I'm subbing now.

Good to see a new reactor diving into PTX! If you keep going you'll notice that Kirstie and Mitchy Mitchy like to drastically change their looks. Recommend Bohemian Rhapsody and Gold, you won't believe it.

They recorded a live version of this at the Hollywood Bowl, too. And yes, Believe had the autotune in honor of how Cher who really pioneered using it as an artistic element in her music. Nice reaction!
