- Wolverton North Layout Build Part 1 And so it begins... the construction of the first building for my N Gauge Layout is complete.
In this video we take a look at how I have used a combination of 3D printing technologies to produce the telecoms building at Wolverton Station on the West Coast Mainline.

I el like a dinosaur having watched this and still using card and paper! Looks very good indeed. Well done.
I knot that technology isn't always the answer but it sure does help....
We need this channel to blow up.
Remarkable eye for details. Pleasant voice. Good explanation. Good videography. Well edited. 👌🏻
Job well done. I hope you have the time for making these videos cause you doing great.
Thank you very much.
I'm hoping to upload a new video next week looking at the second complete building for the layout.
@@thewolvertonworkshop well I’m looking forward to the next video you’ll make.
Great work once again. Glad I came across this channel. Craig
Just working my way through the few videos here and finding them awesome. :)
Please keep it going.
Thanks, there's a long way to go before I have a finished layout. If people are enjoying the videos I will carry on making them.
Your skill is amazing and the build totally awesome. Your N gauge building has more detail and realism than most OO Gauge buildings. Really enjoying your channel.
Thank you very much. I just hope I can keep up the level of detail into the wider scenics.
Superb details, looks so real!! 👍👍😍😍
Excellent work - well done. I love the simulated broken security light.
Glad you like it! I plan to use my lighting system for lots of little effects like that.
Excellent work
Many thanks
I work in stonebridge just round the corner, I walk past this couple of times a week
Nice model.
very nice Sir. well done :)
Thank you.
Not too bad at all my friend, really captured the look and essence of the building.
Hi Just come across your channel, really liked the final outcome of the building, the painting and weathering are pretty good, cheers for now, John
Thank you very much!
Would love to be able build one in oo gauge but no 3d printer so card and scalpel fantastic model well done
Theres nothing wrong with card, I've seen some amazing card models on layouts. Are you also modelling Wolverton station? If not what building are you working on?
Very neat, out of curiosity what material are you using in your FDM printer and what did you use it to glue the resin to the inner shell ? P.S. Putting the warped resin parts in hot water and then putting them on a flat surface under some heavy books can help flatten them
Thank you. I'm printing in PLA+ filament and then just using industrial strength super glue (Ever Build brand) to attach the resin skins. It took a bit of trial and error to account for shrinkage in the resin though.
Did you make that head piece for BB-8?
I did print and paint the scrapyard looking BB8 head but I used the 3D files available for the BB8 builders club. The other droid head (BB4) I designed the files for myself, the body is all printed too and just needs to be painted now.
Could i ask you for some measurements please thank you
The general measurements for the building that I calculated (doubled for you to reflect OO scale) would be 274mm long, 152mm wide and 110mm high. I woultn' say they were spot on but they should be good enough to start with. I have uploaded a 2D drawing for the building from my CAD files to my facebook page that might be useful : facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063841373133
Thank you
The overgrown greenery looks great... realism is shabby, sometimes. 👍
