So Cool you got a truck !!!!
Hopefully it will be, but right now it feels overwhelming. :)
Good stuff 👍
Thanks 👍
Hotdog down a hallway. I haven’t heard that in a while. So little known fact about these Hong Kong race car parts. Summit and I found out that they are intended to be installed with a rubber isolator between the radiator and core support. It stops the cracking and spaces it out more. Mine is setup that way now and made zero difference in cooling performance.
Haha, good to know. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel I was cracking one a year and summit covered each one. On the 4th they finally got involved to figure it out. Otherwise it’s been a good radiator lol
Awesome. Looking good. Small project but makes a big difference. Planning to run a fan shroud with it?
I think I'm going to go an electric fan with this setup. :)
I'm gonna be that guy and ask. When you went back to get the new hoses, did you also get a new thermostat.? That is a cool looking truck for sure.
Nope. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel You are not the only one who has walked into a parts store and said to your self Why am I in here.
Thanks for not making me be that guy.
@@billgoble6209 Just here to help.
Just a note, on cast iron Ford engines I use diesel antifreeze. I find it works great.
Thanks for the heads up.
Why? What's the difference or what makes it better for these applications?
Great job, just a few questions. WHY aluminum?
is it better cooling capacity, resists corrosion, more expensive?
my stock rad just sprung a pinhole leak, looks kinda corroded so if i fix it may just keep happening, so considering new aluminum if price is right or used one if not.
When looking at the chart of the best conductive properties of all metals, Aluminum is 4th (after Silver, Copper, and Gold). So purely off the ability for a radiator to radiate heat, Aluminum is nearly the best choice, especially considering the economic weight of buying a radiator in those other metal options.
But in reality, you're not likely to find a steel radiator as aluminum Rads dominate the market. Lots of people do just fine with stock units, but for a couple extra pennies, I wanted a shiny aluminum Rad in place of the boring black-looking units.
being the Monday morning qb that I am, seems you should have tested the hoses before installing. good lesson to learn. what are those little guides that are holding the overflow hose?
Yep.
Hi Andy thanks for your video. Andy, I have a question, what do you think about some kind of power steering on the mustang I am 66 years old and I am wondering about that, thanks and cheers.
I would like to do power steering, but it will probably be an Electric System as I'd like to minimize the clutter under the hood. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel SuperfastMatt has a great video on using a Toyota Prius electronic power steering setup, lots of hotrodders use it with good results. Biggest issue would be if there's space under the dash
