Front motor ON during the turn is a NO-NO!
He tried to lean it like a motorcycle and pedal skipped it 😮. That dude crazy
Thank you, especially from someone who has experience riding with both motors.
Yeah, any kind of motorized ride, no matter it's power level, you can't take any sudden move or turn for granted. Found that out on a Kymco Super 8 motorscooter a few years ago and it was only a 50cc. I got startled, I flinched and took a good long slide and spent the rest of the day in the hospital.
He was "jetting" until he slid on the pavement. Afterward, he was at a snail's pace... the street looked smooth at the corner. Note to all, go at that snail's pace first, then, "jetting" so you get the feel of the machine and can work in unison or command it...guaranteed body and skin sliding the pavement as if on ice can make you rethink things... I know, I slid for what seemed like a block while speeding a turn on a dirt bike, back in the day...lmao...I found a little rubbing alcohol on scrapped off flesh does the job the trick... after a slight stinging sensation, it will heal a whole lot faster....just get a bottle and pour about half a bottle then, as needed thereafter...there is great love here for you...
I read enough comments on while having the Grizzly in AWD while driving too fast around a corner will cause the rear wheel to slide out causing an accident. I always go around a corner with the RWD motor only on my V3 Grizzly. I am glad your friend was OK!
Yes definitely going to fast around the corner
def a pedal skip leaning issue. Not necessarily a dual motor one.
Sorry for your friend's accident but he started hotshotting the second he got on that bike. He didn't take a moment to get to know the machine. He thought since he was a "motorcycle guy" that this was just a toy. He very likely took that corner too fast. This is another good example for everyone to be careful, especially if new to ebikes.
I always really liked the idea of having two bafang motors and batteries for the power I never really thought about that. I was thinking about doing a conversion I guess something could be done witha dual programmable controller to tame the front... Hate to see crashes glad he's OK and had his skid lid on 😊
The accident is totally understandable. You're not used to two-wheel drive. Note: when hitting a corner put the bike on rear wheel drive.
Glad your friend was okay as well! Could’ve been worse than a little road rash. Glad to see he had a helmet. I like the motto All The Gear, All The Time, but I’m no one to say what others should do. Anyways, stay safe! 🤙👍✌️
Yeah. That could have been more serious. Thankfully no car was behind or myself being closer behind him.
10 to 11 minutes in I see you guys really going faster than normal pace. But no crash yet 😁
He likes to ride fast. lol
I seen it coming. You should have not even told him about the front motor. Plus those handle bars make the grizzly unstable in my opinion. I lowered my bars and the bike feels completely different. Actually feels great!!!
Yea, I like the bmx bars on the graffiti better.
Always a good idea to carry a small first aid kit, that scratch could get infected real quick, a bit of antiseptic and some gauze goes a long way.
The accident happens learn from it get up and keep riding. A lot of people underestimate the power of ebikes.
I don't remember that Teletubby LOL...J/K bro. Great video.
lol
I wonder if just a few little stray rocks and fine grit are in that turning area that gave a bit of extra slipping for tire grip .?
I think he throttled on the turn with both motors engaged.
Like you warned him, the front motor can spin out easily. I have a front motor like that on my bike, and it can spin out up to 15mph ish. If you are leaning into a turn, its very sketchy to use the front motor. Good thing he didn’t fall too hard 👍
mid hight mt bike handle bars change that. the stock ones put the center of gravity to high so you cant put weight over the wheel and leaning on turns buckls the front tire. i changed mine its a whole different bike
He don’t know how much money they really cost. $200. 😂🤣
That fall is so weird. How did he end up scraping his left arm when we saw him turn right? Was his camera running ? Would love to see how it happened.
Unfortunately he was not recording at the time.
Looks like both of the following occurred, the front end spun out First then, panic, he turned the pedal, a low pedal ensued, hitting the pavement and he flipped to he other side and slid on the pavement... That's how he ended with the flesh peeling off on the wrong side...there is great love here for you...
That's what I asked.. Maybe it's not running
@@bigscreenadz8225agreed - front motor probably spun out, dual motors needs some riding and familiarity. Can’t hop on and bomb the Grizzly both motors first time like that. Front hub can be dangerous, can easily lose it.
Either pedal strike or taking a turn on awd making front wheel skid out while applying throttle. I have a v3 grizzly and you need to know how to turn with both motors on power.
I ride single motor for the most part. I have forgotten and had both mottors engaged a few times.
Looks like both, the front end spun out First then, panic, he turned the pedal, a low pedal ensued, hitting the pavement and he flipped to he other side and slid on the pavement... That's how he ended with the flesh peeling off on the wrong side...there is great love here for you...
How are those tires on the grizzly?
HIm not knowing how it happened wonder if it might have been a petal strike. Non the less glad he is ok.
13:30 looks like he was doing a little to much speed around that corner. I also have had my front tire spin out on me doing like 7mph around a corner while giving it throttle. That front tire torque will get you to if you ain’t careful.
Seems to me not a good idea to take a newbie on his first ride in a residential area. He seemed Shakey from the get go.
Hard lesson learned on the Grizzly first ride.
Ouch!
Just a lil' ole baby scratch... there is great love here for you...
Brother where did you learn how to communicate
He didn't have his helmet cam going during that crash?
Unfortunately no.
Oh snap! Yowzer! 😳 Now he will need to go ahead and get himself one 😂😂.. Hopefully it's ok and he just needs a bit of a bandaid for a day or 3.
I'm glad it wasn't a worse accident. This could have been more serious.
bet his peddle hit the ground and first time on a ebike he was gunning it from the start
Ebike tyres are not motorcycle tyres!!!!! You can't corner at speed like that!🤦if you bend it you bye i!
I think also thT every bike handles a little different. Gotta be careful especially with dual motors engaged on a turn and you theottle.
Financial liability exposure letting someone ride your bike. Something to consider.
If you've ever eaten Cherry chunky monkey, and I'm not talking about ice cream. It's kind of like your video. You are sure and then you're not sure, then it's okay again.
Never let that guy ride one of your bikes again ! It seems he had No Concept of riding with a friend ...
😂.. Just needs a few hours more in the saddle. A Grizzly is not highly recommended as a first day E bike maybe either..
We will ride more. This ride you can learn from.
It's a Beast of a bike.
@@oregonebikermark8953 In the 70s I was selling a motorcycle and the guy went on a test ride upon return he wiped out in front of the house . I told him "you bought that bike now !" And he Did .
You have to get use to those dual motors bike not something for a first timer. As easy to spin the front tire and lose traction.
To tell you the truth he wasn't going to buy it right from the getgo. You could tell in his demeanor way before the crash
he needs training wheels, fail army. but actually, at13:36 you can see the scrape where the crank arm contacted the pavement. Possible cause was the front motor caused the front tire to lose traction (burn out) or rider cut the corner too sharply. Hard to say, as rider never pedaled the bike. If I hazard to guess I'd say that the bike overpowered the front tire's friction with the asphalt.
I believe he hit the throttle while leaning and turning with both motors engaged. Front will spun out. That's my guess.
what tires did U say those were?
The Grizzly has Vee Moto E-Huntsman tires. Amazon has them at a good price. www.amazon.com/Vee-Tire-Huntsman-Ebike-593544/dp/B0B9RDJQ77
Do you think it’s the tires. The reson he fell?
My guess is front motor was engaged when he took the turn and he accelerated while leaning in on his turn and the front wheel spun out.
Loved the video, how to fall off the grizzly 😂😂😂 only joking, thankfully it was not to bad of a full.,
I know exactly what happened.
The moment he saw the power he took it for granted, you can tell by the smile on his face as he sped off😁.. he took for granted the power of the bike in duo mode.. it’s not good to throttle the bike on duo mode when taking turns, specially a sharp turn, your front wheel will spin out on you and if your not used to it plus the weight of the bike, that’s were accidents happen, really you only need to use the 1000w back wheel motor is enough, I’ll only use double drive up the hills, he started on double mode, you should have warned him about avoiding double mode on turns at any speed.. you should have broken him in at first on peddle assist, it’s deferent modes, than at last throttle mode.
Let him feel the difference going up steep hill first on pedal assets then double mode with throttle..
seeing the smile on his face as he sped off reminded me when I first got on a fast ebike.. I got excited myself and went flying off the bike pushing it to hard to fast.. I never took ebikes and Escooters for granted again after that..
But I love them, and don’t know why there getting so much stick, as long as ppl use them responsibly , it’s the long term sustainability answer green transportation.
The only e ride I will not ride is them one wheelers, 😂😂 them things just look crazy, I need to hold onto something..
He had both motors engaged and i think accelerated as he was turning. Was his first ride on the Grizzly.
@@oregonebikermark8953 yep, that was my point exactly.. It could have happened on any two wheel motor or Escooter, trying take turns at speed the duo motor..
Moto bikes are not quite the same as it’s only using one wheel to drive, that’s why maybe you could have given him warning.. but judging from the smile on his face 😎 as he took off, only a accident would have tort him that the handling is slightly different.
the handle bars are to high and makes your center of gravity to high. get mt bike bars and it changes everything
Yes they are high.
Does he remember if he had the front wheel powered at the time of the crash? I've seen a lot of people say that turning with both motors on can cause the front wheel to slide out.
I think he had both on and accelerated while turning.
@@oregonebikermark8953 100%
I have a front hub on my bike and up to about 15mph the front motor is able to spin the wheel out. If you are leaning / turning the bike, its very easy to lose it at lower speeds when that front wheel completely loses traction
Man from the start of the video. He wasn't watching the road. Doing mid Street turns looking back in the street. You should've taken lead
Cavalier attitude, meets pedal strike. Powned. Repair compensation due.
Live and learn.
Pedal hit ground on turn
It had a scuff so it must have yes.
Little to fast road rash sucks
Yes
Bro how do you carry on a conversation behind somebody?I don't understand
Hes a bike rider, proceeds to fall of a bicycle. LMAO
Road rash use protective gear or not I don't care😂
Why would you let him ride 2 motors? Plus he was not riding safe from the start, and Why didn't you lead or side by side instead of yelling at him the whole time! I've been a bmxer all my life I just got an e-bike about a month ago, I hadn't ridden a bike regularly in probably 20 years, I was a little hesitant on my fat tire folding ebike but just like riding a bike as they say I picked up quickly with it, just bought another one Cafe Style, but ebikes are definitely different than motorcycles you just got to take it easy it takes a little bit to get used to I think this dude was hot dogging it and that front motor never should have been turned on, I'll tell you what happened he took that turn flying and that front motor wanted to let loose and the front tire was at angle and got out from under him, that motor being on the front was stupid
Difficult to ride side by side as the bike lanes are narrow.
He throttled into the corner the tire lost grip when he tried to turn it harder to compensate for the drift. He should have just let off the throttle.
Definately.
@oregonebikermark8953 I've done nearly the same thing, but I let off and put my foot out to catch me if I did start to go over. Reason I knew what he did.
@@paulcoinc He must have rolled because he fell on the right but left arm scraped up worse.
To fast, and really not a good rider - CRASH !!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all he should have not been speeding that fast that’s not even his bike what he thought he was on a motorcycle the guy little ride his bike to test it to see how I feel and he speeding around corners like it’s a motorcycle
I was thinking it may have been caused by a pedal strike, but it looks like his left leg was down and right leg was up. I suppose maybe leaned too far and was in the throttle with too much lean with it in the 2wd mode. Pedal strike was the closest I've come to wiping out so far, 1k miles on my ebike so far.
I wish I had a better camera bmview of the accident.
I always really liked the idea of having two bafang motors and batteries for the power I never really thought about that. I was thinking about doing a conversion I guess something could be done witha dual programmable controller to tame the front... Hate to see crashes glad he's OK and had his skid lid on 😊
@@orlandopockets6372 so you have to switch off your front motor before you go into every bend and then back on afterwards..., Great Solution there buddy!
