Too bad for me I didn’t see this before making my first kayak purchase. I did watch The Bearded Paddler’s two reviews, as well as others, on the model I chose prior to going to a dealer. I had a budget. In my case, I had to sell a “toy” to get another. When I went to test/buy, I drove just under 4 hrs to the closest reputable dealer on a beautiful sunny day. By the time I arrived, the wind had started blowing 20+ MPH. I didn’t get to test it, but fortunately I have sat in the same style seat for hours while hunting. Idk if that’ll make a difference, but I didn’t worry about it. I did look online for a used decent kayak, but with today’s diesel prices I may as well have bought a new one by the time I drove around to look and potentially buy. Point is, I can certainly relate to the research and decision involved purchasing my first kayak. Awesome information and great show!

I have a NRS Pike Pro and thinking about graduating to a Old Town Sportsman PDL 120 , Bonafide P127 or a Hobie Pro Angler 12. Thoughts?
I really love the Pro Angler but the P127 is very customizable and one of the best prop style bicycle pedal drives on the market imo
Skip the paddle and go with a good quality pedal kayak or motorized kayak. I am speaking from experience after paddling for miles and miles and getting beat up by wind.
I'm 240 lbs, 5'11". So I ain't small but I ain't real big. Would a native slayer max 10 be too small for me? I'm gonna check one out in person soon. Nobody really does demoes around me. Wendell, arent you tall and skinny and you fit alright in a slayer 10?
I fit just fine in the slayer 10. Great boat for small lakes and ponds and the weight is great if you pond and lake jump a lot
I think you would be just fine in the Slayer Max. It really depends on what kind of fishing you do, and how much gear you want to bring. If you are not needing the extra weight capacity (and weight) that the Titan gives you then you will really enjoy the Slayer Max
