I love drawing fanart because most of the work is already done for you as for clothing design and hair etc.
My problem isn’t about what to draw. The problem is I want to draw more cartoony fun things but I can’t seem to find a style that truly fits me, I’ve tried a bunch of stuff but I just can’t find a cartoon style that fits me. Does anyone have any tips??
I'm the same way. One thing I've been doing to help develop my style is do mini studies of other people's styles. Find artists that have styles you like and figure out what you like about it. I liked an artist's use of color, so I created my own pieces based off their color palettes. I then used what I learned from mimicking their style to modify it to match with my own style and taste. Idk if this is the best way, but it's what worked for me
Maybe you need to take different aspects of the styles you enjoy in other's art and put them together in a style that you love and defines you.
if you have Instagram I'd scroll through the draw this in your style tag. I've done a bunch of those challenges and they help me learn (through what other artists do) what I want my art to look like and how to go in that direction
I have a tip take all your favorite artist take a feature from their styles that sticks out the most example let’s say you like the way Ross draws dose his eyes take that out in your style or the way alt style dose the ear s and puts it’s as a way to draw the ear or common ear this is how I developed a style I am happy with but make sure your able to do those features you don’t want to make a super realistic nose with like a cartoon style but that optional if that’s what you like them go for it
Go through socials or books/movies to find find art styles. Find things you likeabout each and incorporate them. I have multiple styles I enjoy so I don't care to follow 1 art style.

I LOVE draw this in your style #dtiys challenges! I did a lot of Mermaids for Mermay with those prompts and it helped me release my creativity! Great come back with the paint blob for the little flowers too!

That's so cool that you use ballpoint pens in your work! And yes, it's so good to experiment with different art supplies especially in sketchbooks. I've discovered that one of my favorite supplies to use are dry erase markers (on paper). It just thought that maybe you could try it out some time!

my n1 tip would be to make the pages messy on purpose, because it removes the anxiety of the white page. I find whenever I start taking page layout too seriously in a sketchbook I always end up abandoning it...

I finally here another artist I'm waiting to draw every art style I can until I die but I'm not the supplies I often draw my own style but I want to move on to other people's art style and as I learn I will be a better artist but I don't have the right supplies I'm still looking and I want people to learn my style

the watercolor ballpoint pen combo feels like it wouldnt really fit but it turned out such a pretty combination of the soft touch of watercolor and the linework you get with the pen, you really did it so beautifully

It’s so funny you bring up fan art as I’m currently trying to sketch out one of my favorite Biomutant npc characters ( Maya Doom, a pink and white critter who’s a wytch doctor) what’s unfortunate is that the game she’s from pretty much flopped so there’s literally NO art of her anywhere online, I don’t have many references, and in the game she never stands so I can’t see how her lower body and tail look. Time for artistic liberties! This character is too adorable to be ignored by everyone!

My sketchbook: Missing pages, has **Death Note** written on the front with white paint pen... and is full of half finished rough sketch linearts, practice pages (eyes, lips, hairstyles, random shaded things, somewhat realistic water drops, ribbons, etc), and chibi/simple animal drawings...
I feel like I could make an artist bingo card with this😅😅
